Wheelset

I'm about to purchase a set of wheels and I'm thinking about having Universal Cycles build a custom pair for me (Velocity Fusions laced to Surlys). Does anyone have any experience with Universal Cycles and their wheel build quality?

Thanks

Why Universal when you have Ben from Velomine?!??!

idk about universal, but i know alot of people have wheels made by ben and they like it alot. give him a email, and ask for a quote.

IIRC, Ben doesn't build them. They're built on a large scale and the wheels are distributed to various distributors, like Velomine. He DOES have a custom wheel-builder, however, named Chuck.

I think you can get that set-up from pro wheel builder also.

I too have wondered about Universal Cycle wheel build quality. I am putting together my new wheelset for my Vigorelli:

Mavic Open Pro
(or DT Swiss 1.2) can't decide yet between these two very different rims
Miche Primato hubs
DT spokes
