Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

yeah the price is fairly flexible but i feel like its a good starting point for mild negotiations.

the craigslist in nyc is flooded with affinity's right now. i think ill give it another day or two before i pull mine off. someone just posted another lo pro!

There's a lot of fake ads trying to piss people off here by filling their phones with responses... seems legit though. But by now, he probably decided to raise the price because of the demand

yeah it is fairly priced. only the rear is a phil. the framesets go for 500 new and once you get rid of the stickers they actually look pretty cool.

Holy mackerel. Judging by the cmu in the back - assuming they're approx. 8x8x16 - that may put the center to center seat post around 26"-28", putting you at like 6'5". What a beast.

Yes, and a definite el oh el at 2.38 gear inch.

Ebay find:

seems like a hacked job, but quite an interesting color combo. I seem to favor this brass look quite a bit.

It was some dude who claimed he had his bike parts stolen by a regular scumbag on CL. The scumbag has a several spam posts about having a lot of vintage frames and parts. The guy asked the scumbag to restore his bike, couple of days later, the bike came back with pieces of crap parts and basically unrideable.

Vancouver CL is so bizarre, like this $1000 IRO.

I still don't quite understand the people that spent all the money to get all of the nice parts, and then they could only ride it for a short amount of time, or they never got to ride it... You don't drop that amount of cash on something you don't cherish... it just makes for a bad ad, and a fishy sale...

I totally know what you mean and deals like these always come up on CL. Built it up with nice parts, rode it twice, been sitting at the garage since two summers yiddi yadda.

Whatever, it's their money to waste.

I'm interested to see what riding will be like in 5-10 years. It wasn't until about 3-4 years ago that those SS/FG rides exploded onto the streets here. Instead of sharing a bike lane with the same 2-3 people every day for 5 years, we're now contending with what seems like hundreds of bicycles during the summer. At least it's winter now, so it's back down to 2-3.

It's a huge trend right now to get those cookie cutter rides, and i'm kind of disappointed i didn't see it coming; missed out on a lot of money.
