Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Addicted...?

Who else here is addicted to bikes/biking, and bike part/accessory acquisition? I think I have some sort of problem, not even kidding.

No, I'm just in it 'cause it's trendy right now. I'll move on to the next cool thing soon. I think it will be fencing.

Bikes: Cinelli Mash / CAAD9 5

Started on two wheels in 1973. 5 speed in 1978. First bmx in 1982. Sponsored in 1985. Turned pro in 1986. Rode a lot....quit bmx in 1999. Back surgery in 2000. Got back on a bike in 2007. Fixed.

Pretty sure my "retirement" will involve owning a bike shop. Discussed it with my best friend today. Pretty sure we'll grow the beards and turn into sheldons. I love bikes. Always will. It's where my heart has always been.

Life behind bars

My GF says that I am addicted, but i don't want to admit it because the first step in recovery is admitting that you have a problem. HAHAHA

Speaking of Zipp... my friend had this in his garage today, I had to take a picture. One of the early CF bikes, it's pretty crazy, he's got a disk wheel for the back, pretty crazy TT set up.

Yeah, it's a really bizarre looking bike. You have the crazy shape of that frame, then the quill stem + that fork... I told him to convert it. He gave me a look like

Yeah, crazy to think that it's that old. Where did the 90's/first decade of the 2000's go?
