Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I picked up my co-workers Republic and was honestly shocked at how heavy it was...at least 22 lbs or so. She was like "Isn't it light?" and I said "Yes, it is, almost as light as my road bike!" and she was like "Nah, your bike is a lot heavier!" and she went to pick it up and of course, it is about 18lbs so she got ownd. Also, the fork is bent because she has fallen off the bike twice in the last month. Another co-worker of mine broke both of his wrists when he was riding drunk back in May. Holy ****, how do I put up with it?

A week or so ago I switched to bmx platforms and that night I got pretty wasted and tried to bike home.
I was at a stop light and as the light turned green and I was getting onto the pedals, I kinda missed/slipped off. Nuts right into the top tube and scraped the entire front of my shin, from ankle to knee.

The worst part was that the intersection was pretty busy and tons of girls were out.

It was pretty stupid of me to try to bike home that drunk so I guess I deserved it.

It's funny when people try to be clever and end up just being clueless.

scroca - I agree with you to some degree but this dude thrives on jackassery. On several occasions, he's made crappy remarks about my Madison and then he rolls in on a damn Republic with one crank arm.
