they're around too, if you'll take taiwanese or know where to look for something nicer. eg: i just bought a new in the box 1" ouzo pro in exactly the rake i needed. seller has still has several more, many rakes, but mostly 43. there might have even been a 50 track rake in there. and maybe a year ago i was able to find another 1" ouzo in 650c wheel size for my wife.

you could always just get the fork threaded and run a quill stem. Would look way better on a lugged frame anyways

Unless I'm missing something, the link to purchase the bike lets you choose whether you want the fork threaded. I wouldn't consider 1" threaded "odd sizing."

you can choose threadless or threaded one inch on the leader lugged....
i would go with threaded, quill stems are easy to come by and classy looking.
although i could go threadless and throw a cinelli alter on it lol

i just wish the front fork was drilled for a brake. oh wellz

This is what a classic lugged steel track bike should look like

how bout this?

soma van ness...

honestly i think i like the leader the most for its price and quality and good looks, but no drilled fork thing sucks because i like having a front brake (oh my gawd im so unmanly boo hoo lol)
although not into the top tube braze ons on the van ness. i could definitely look past it though

oh and i found this frame...

sillgey cerchio....but i dunno much about them, and they are definitely hard to find online (to buy).....i sort of dig this....sparkly/black lugs on silver tubes?

I gotta say, my biggest gripe with all of these new lugged frames is the seat stay junction to the seat tube. Granted I understand they are inexpensive alternatives to hunting down a classic bike but they just look cheap. Look at a Casati or Masi lugged frame and then look at KILO, LEADER, etc etc.

im liking this masi...

i dunno i just really like lugs i guess. but even more so if the lugs are pronounced like if different color or outlining....whats going on with this one? its the "naked" frame, so is that copper colored outlining from the process of creating the frame?

Two things I don't like about this frame. 1, no chrome lugs. 2, the track fork ends, I like the ones on the Leader a lot more.

I ate my words. If I could find it for ~550 shipped and taxed i'd likely pick up the masi. It's 631 Reynolds.

I think they are just polished, the inside of the top half is reflecting the asphalt and the lower half is reflecting the sky/clouds.

As for the parts thing, yes, the parts can be found online, the internet is an unlimited resource for things, but sometimes it is not convenient, that's all; but I suppose you can compensate for that by stocking up, as mentioned.

As for the carbon fork.. Performance bike sells the Kinesis fork rebranded as Forte Axis (Carbon forks, steel steerer for 1") for 80 dollars or so in 1" threadless.

so i was kind of getting excited because i was seriously contemplating buying a Bob Jackson vigorelli (in metallic pearl white with red decals and black lug lining) but shipping to the states is 140 DOLLARS
the frame itself is 588 dollars, which seems like an incredible deal. but then the 140 dollars shipping is serious put off.

i am still looking at the leader lug, but the front fork is not drilled for brakes, and i want a front brake.
the soma van ness is nice too, but i dont like the TT braze ons.
was kind of digging the "nekkid" masi....it dosn't quite have lug lining, but its naked and the copper colored brazing or whatever looks like lining and looks cool....buuuut im still not sold on it.
i actually really like that maxway frame i posted first in black with silver lugs, but basically you cant buy that exact bike. its nowhere online, i emailed them about it and no response.
i sorta liked the sillgey in silver tubes with black-ish lugs, but i cant find it anywhere online and when i try to contact sillgey on help to find it, or i find a bike store that does have it and actually says they will ship frames, i dont get a response.

seriously, WTF is up with bike stores and frame companies never responding to emails? you would think that they would want to take easy business. someone is like "hey! i have money! i want to buy!" then you ignore them.
same thing happened with Pake, i tried to ask them a question about their newer frames and never got a response. why have a "contact" on their website at all?? sorry, *end rant*

anywho, anyone have any other suggestions for new lugged frames with either lug lining or diff colored lugs? pref below 700$?

?

also: so despite costing 728 dollars total plus shipping for a bob jackson vigorelli, you still think its worth the price tag? its not like i can get one here in the states. 140 dollars shipping
