HAVE YOU EVER HAD THICK CUT BACON**********? It is infinitely better than regular bacon.

Also, farm raised organic eggs are really, really good. It sucks that they're $4 for a carton of 12, though.

Ha almost everyday after school I make a bacon egg toast sandwich. And yes bacon is bomb.

xavier853 11-16-10 07:56 PM

dang it, now I am really hungry!

I personally just have my own chickens. The eggs taste better than any you'll find at a store, and you can buy baby chicks for 2 bucks a pop.
Save money on buying eggs, and they taste better anyway.

yummygooey 11-16-10 09:33 PM

Wait. Are you serious? I would like to raise a chicken.

Don't buy a rooster though, they will crow at the most random time...like 3 in the morning when you're trying to sleep.

CallMeIshamael 11-16-10 09:56 PM

Yeaaahh. Roosters are a pain. They do sound nice every once in a while, but not constantly.

But yes, I have 5 lay hens.

Had six, but one was just eaten by a coyote.

calv 11-16-10 09:58 PM

I usually just try to get Bacon that has more meat than fat on it.. thick cut Bacon is so expensive!

yummygooey 11-16-10 10:44 PM

Thick cut and regular are totalllyyyyyyyy different.

Phiberglass 11-16-10 11:12 PM

Alien makes a good crankset and it's like $80 now.

Andel cold-forged track cranks with 1/8" 144BCD 46T CNC'd chainring. 165mm, square taper.

Scrodzilla 11-16-10 11:19 PM

Alien/Andel is the same thing.

Food thread.

DrakeHawton 11-16-10 11:46 PM

1.milton bread lightly toasted and buttered
2.drop two eggs in buttered pan, season, and let it cook to over easy, then flip that **** and continue until yolk is a little cooked
3.put the eggs on the toast and throw two pieces of sliced amareican cheese
4.four to infinity pices of bacon on cheese then put the other piece of bread on that beast <333

Win. The wife is Canadian and whenever anyone from her family comes to visit they bring us tons of cheese curds and Poutine sauce. One of my all-time favorite foods, right there!

Last night we made tuna melts (but not your average tuna melts). Grilled, thinly-sliced bluefin steaks on freshly-baked sourdough toast with jalapenos, tomatoes and cheddar cheese. It was a lot of prep but hot damn, well worth it.

dewthedew 11-17-10 09:30 AM

mmm dark chocolate covered goji berries

riot2003 11-17-10 10:19 AM

I've been real stoked on cooking with goat cheese lately.

Those alien cranks look pretty rad. I'll have to do some reading.

I've walked by that place a bunch of times and it's always HELLA packed. Haven't even tried to go in.

Do it. The standing-room-only-dining makes the experience all the better. My bro works in NYC and my sister used to go to school there, and of all the places they've taken me on my visits, it's one of my favorites.
