Oh yeah I don't mind the standing-room thing... it's the fact that there's literally a long-ass line going all the way out into the street. (I'm not known for being patient).
Next time I'm around that area I'll try and see if the line is a little more manageable. |
Speaking of poutine... have you been to Pommes Frites?

Head into the city. Eat at Redbones.
Egg in a hole: Make a loaf of Bob's Red Mill gluten free bread. Or use some store bought, wheat-based stuff. Cut a couple thicker slices off. Punch out the middle of them with a glass. Drop into a buttered fry pan at about med. Crack your home-made eggs into the middle. Or use tasteless store-bought eggs from factory farms. Cook a bit for about the same time you would with french toast, then flip quick and careful so you don't lose too much egg out of the hole. Once flipped, smother in thinly sliced garlic and layer over with Cabot Hunter's Seriously Sharp cheese. Cover the pan for the final couple of minutes to help the cheese melt through the mound of garlic, into the bread and egg. You'll need practice to get your timing down, but these are done perfectly when the egg white is all cooked, yolk still runny, bread unburnt. Same time you're cooking the egg in a hole, toast up the bread middles you cut out from the slices in the pan with all the rest if it, cover in garlic and cheese. Plate off to the side or on top of the egginahole. Serve it up and enjoy. Put a chipotle hot sauce and pepper grinder on the table for condiments. |
Chipotle Tabasco sauce is bomb.
