Tires and extras
So do you guys riding SS/FG buy only two tires when a good deal pops up or do you guys stock up like 4-5 tires at one time?
I was thinking of stocking up on a particular tire for the upcoming year but is it better to try out different tires?
Edit: I know its personal preference also but I'm just looking for feedback from other riders and what you guys tend to do.

I usually buy three tires at a time from Ribble.
One for the front, two for the rear. I seem to run that kind of ratio. Not a big time skidder, I just ride brakeless.

i was just digging though my spares drawer...
a couple bottom brackets, a couple saddles, a couple cassettes...and at least a half dozen tires. i usually buy three, following the banzai rule of one front/two rear. somehow, they accumulate.

I've never bought the same tires twice, because I like trying something new everytime. If I don't like them, I'd sell it and try out other tires or maybe buy the ones I used to like.
That said, I like my Krylion Carbons very very very much, however, I do not intend to use them again as I have another set of Michelin tires that I want to try. (Lithion 2, in the recommendation of Dr. Banzai a long time ago.)

MMMM-- I see
Well I'll share the deal here!

I picked up two of the hutchinson atoms to try out the carbon bead but i had a friend buy the fusion 3's also. $14 bucks not bad for an expensive tire, which is why I was asking if i should just stock up

i've bought before from https://www.biketiresdirect.com/ and they've had deals before buy 3 get 5% off, buy 6 get 10% off. I usually try to get a few friends who want a new tire at the same time and buy a bunch

Has anyone compared the Atom to the Fusion 3? I'm having a hard time deciding which one I want to order.
I skid occasionally... how does the Fusion 3 put up with skids?
I will by buying two tires for myself and two tires for the lady.

I would advise against buying a bunch of tires at once unless you know you really like them or it's the deal of the century. Because you might find that once your current pair wears out your personal preferences/riding conditions/bike have changed. And then you'll be stuck with a bunch of stuff you won't use and dump it on craigslist for a loss.
