"And what can I get for you gentlemen?" asks the waitress.

Bush looks up from his menu and smiles politely. "Hey, honey, how 'bout a quickie?"

Shocked, the waitress slaps Bush and storms off.

After the waitress disappears from sight, Chirac leans over to Bush. In a low voice, he says:

"I think you mean 'quiche,' Mr. President."

Ahem. If I might interject...... made last Wednesday evening, for my SO and I to gorge ourselves upon the next day. The filling was five large granny smith apples, in small pieces, with 2/3C raisins, and 2/3C dried cranberries, sprinkled with 2Tsp each of brown sugar, and cinamon. sprinkle over the top with a few Tsp of water, then cover with your pie top. Baked in a large glass dish; sort of a pie/cobbler hybrid. about 4" tall, very thickly crusted. Full coverage crust. Bake for 45-60 minutes at 400. More or less depending on your elevation.

1.5C whole wheat flour
1C white flour
1tsp sugar
1tsp salt

mix the dry ingredients, then add:

3 sticks of butter, cold, cut into pieces. fold in until all looks like coarse crumbs.

then mix in 1/2C cold water. wrap in plastic and refrigerate for 30 minutes. remove, and roll into your fav pastry dough of choice.

Mmmmmmmmm good!

I have a leftover pumpkin pie that my mom made for thanksgiving in my refridgerator. I think I must now buy some whipped cream.

I have yet to try the pie, as the other desert option was an espresso/bushmills irish cream cheesecake made by goatmeal.

As stated before pie<cheesecake.

In a similar vein to the 'Bush' story.....
One of my older sisters went to a 'finishing school' in France.
Yes I know, we were an under privilaged family.
Her name , Phillipa is derived from my dad's name Phillip.
It is usually shortened to Pippa.
In French, this is translated as pee pas, or 'no peeing'.

My pies are made 42x16 -- 42 air holes in the crust and 16 slices.
