Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Building a new bike around silver spacers seems overkill...

I had to double take and make sure Dan didn't get a new bike.

Saddle not matching tape.

(yes, I know "it's too small")
I really like this bike, the color scheme is eye catching yet not gaudy. I would want white wheels on it and maybe lighter colored (more orange) bar tape. That fork is really neat.

I'm hesitant to be ok with it being white. Especially if it's a CX bike. But maybe that's so counter productive it's cool?

Not really. Pomp is almost strictly to fool around on and I've only ridden it ~250mi since being built up. I'm hoping that I'll ride it a little more now that I have some slick tires on it and once cross season gets closer I'll switch back to the cx tires I had on there initially. I mainly use my road or rack bike bike for messengering.

nice nice. my pompino doesn't have many miles on it either... built it up in early fall, rode it through the semester to class and on a couple 30 mile rides... but have only put a handful of shorter rides on it since winter.
