Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I usually hate colored chains, but I kinda like it here. Just the right amount of "What?". I don't, however, like that catastrophe you're passing off as cable routing.

Hahaha guys, guys...

He doesn't even have housing on those cables. It's just bare brake cable.

I've gotta assume he's still working on it...

Oh, thank god. Nothing irks me like sloppy cables.

Correct... Since I don't often run a rear brake, I don't have any housing long enough to make it work... I'm not wrapping the bars yet until I get some, so for now its just the cables, uncut, and untouched.

I have a few other bike projects that need some housing, so I am trying to convince someone to go halves on 25' of housing, that way I'll never run out.

After aquiring the Windsor The Hour frame that I tried stripping and painting, I figured I would do the same with the Cannondale frame I had...

After trying it out a few times, I realized that the paint on the Cannondale wasn't going to come off as easily as the Windsor so I threw the bike in storage and forgot about it...

Resurrecting it after awhile now, I've come to realize that the cable guides (which were plastic) have come off, as well I am missing the bottom cable guide.

I have the frame sitting atop a bookshelf, haunting me... I feel that the only thing to really do with it would be to find an Eno hub and make it a fixed gear. Also, the Tange Chrome fork needs to go (in place of a carbon fiber, or aluminum fork) and at that point, I will most likely switch to a threadless setup...

My question is... Is it really worth it to find a eno hub, new fork, headset, seatpost, or should I just donate the frame? I'd love to find someone willing to sandblast it and paint it for dirt cheap, but even then I just don't know how much is too much on such a beater

The cheapest price I found for a media blast and powdercoat in Chicago was $70.

To me it doesn't seem like it'd be worth it to put in all that work and money since you already have two other fixed gear bikes and a road bike.

only 1 now...and its aluminum as well... The Cannondale frame is still lightweight, and has good Geo, but it still doesn't seem worth the extra $3-400 I'd have to put into it

Anybody out there ride a eno hubbed Cannondale?

I noticed you mentioned donating it - you could always donate it to me I think I have everything except left brake lever, right shifter, brake calipers and bars to build it up road style. Well, I guess I'd need a BB also unless that's a Campagnolo Chorus BB.

Is that primer showing in the pics? Must be some tough primer!

I used stripper... I don't have a clue what it is, but that paint is on there good... I thought if I knew someone who would sandblast it I'd go that route... but alas, I know nobody.

If you are seriously interested in it, I'd trade yah for something... but at the same time, every time I look at it I see potential.

I don't know but I just luv that cdale sky blue.... I wish I could buy another one in the same sky blue that mine is so I would have the will to actually ride one and not risk the track limited mint condition one that my family friend bestowed on me. 'Tis true I have not even rode it once since I came to possess it. Yes shame on me.
