An oversized crown with a standard size head tube always looks terrible, IMO.

yummygooey 07-05-11 08:04 AM

Yea, that's why I'm wondering.

hamfoh 07-05-11 08:16 AM

scrod is this the new black 725 mid? Does it just look that light due to the lighting in the picture? Appears almost grey

and I saw an older 725 the other day and wheel didn't seem to go all the way back to the seattube (a noticeable 1-2" gap). was this an early version I was seeing?

yummygooey 07-05-11 08:20 AM

Either that or the wheel was slammed to the rear of the track ends.

Yea that looks like a V2.

Disclaimer: I'm no Leader expert!

Scrodzilla 07-05-11 08:32 AM

It does look greyish in the pics but it's flat black. The older 725TR frames had a noticeable gap between the wheel and seat tube, even with the wheel "slammed" in the dropouts. The new ones - both the 2011 and Mid versions - are as they should be, as seen here:

I still have a little room to come forward more in my dropous but that's a 28c Thickslick.

thanks guys!

If I had to guess I would say Deda Pistas, but on second thought they look more like these.

You can find the I806TR on Coghouse but I think they are out of stock. Leader has a new fork in the works that won't be drilled for a brake but it will resemble the I806TR.

hamfoh 07-05-11 08:56 AM

One more question, what was the reasoning behind the change in the seat collar? Is it a major improvement in design or just aesthetics?

Scrodzilla 07-05-11 09:36 AM

Both.

Could be. I don't think the top flat portion drops as much though.

Is your frame too small for you? I like the bar & crank combo but I'm not huge about the wheels.

8bits 07-06-11 09:58 AM

Yeah tbh in the future (when my bank account is posivitve again :P) I'll change for some open pros

GuddaGudda 07-06-11 11:38 AM

After looking at the I805TR, is it just a carbon version of the S803? IMO the S805 doesn't as good on a 722.

Scrodzilla 07-06-11 11:45 AM

The S805 is designed for use with a steel frame with a standard size head tube. The I05TR has an oversized crown to match the aluminum frames.
