Wait...that's yours? I really dig the raw/pink combo. Needs more pink though!

Damn, I wish I could trade one of my leader frames for one of those blue/green/red 722's. They just look killer

hamfoh 01-03-12 12:31 AM

@polo: your leader is one of my favorites on pedalroom for a reason :D I went honey over antique so I wasn't a total copycat!

Haha thanks a lot. I actually have a pink deep-v but I'm thinking of using that on my old frame.

One of my favorite bikes. I found it on google when looking for builds and it serves as a huge inspiration for my green 722 build. I'm still undecided between the VO tall stack and a Thomson though.

Neither:

What is the tire fitment looking like on those 722s?

Trying to decide if I want a Retrogression Excel frame or that red 722 for $170..

Guess fenders and bigger tires are more important.

Scrodzilla 01-08-12 08:08 PM

I've got a 28c Rando on my 722 with plenty of room to spare.

calv 01-08-12 08:16 PM

I guess the question is now: do I become a poor, cheap, bastardized version of Scrod with the red 722, or do I get the Excel frame.

Scrodzilla 01-08-12 08:24 PM

Dude...a red 722 and a Kagero? If you grow dreads, I'll be pretty creeped out.

Sherblock 01-08-12 08:34 PM

He has to actually build the Kagero first

hamfoh 01-08-12 08:52 PM

Don't tell Scrod that he's asked Tom to change his name to Calvzilla

calv 01-08-12 09:42 PM

Damn, I might really do it.

Haaaa, you guys are just jealous!

And I probably won't get the 722. I like the idea of having the Excel more, that thread is way to baron for my liking. +The only reason why I like the 722 was because of the dropouts and the cool colors.

hamfoh 01-09-12 02:57 AM

Another 722, another busted ass seat clamp that came with it. I don't mind having to buy one for $5, but I'm wondering how many people had to saw one off like me. it almost comes in a way that feels like it'll tighten if you tighten it more and more, luckily I learned my lesson from the previous bad one. I also didn't want that much steerer tube but apparently something happened with my LBS' tool that they cut with so they had to cut where it's at now? I have no idea, it made no sense to me.

saddle looks kinda funky. Affinity or Omnium crankset for this? Think noms for this, affinity for blue

Scrodzilla 01-09-12 07:28 AM

Poke a hole in your grip. :)

Are you guys greasing the threads on your binder bolts?

hamfoh 01-09-12 01:30 PM

I was. I may have even overdone this one just from fear of having to saw it out. not a big deal, just annoying.

DviousDave 01-09-12 06:09 PM

Seat clamp strikes again.
