I work in customer service for a company that produces municipal water filtration equipment (water and wastewater). Spent 13 years on the road as a field tech, commissioning water plants before moving into the office as a field coordinator for the service techs.

Hobbies include decorative knott making. I'm a month away from being 49.

... a lot of you are students, at 32 am i kinda an 'old man' in here? i know there are a couple real old guys but seems the average age in here might be no more than 25.

Tesla?

I'm 28, goin on 29. Not old, not young.

I'm in the Air Force. Working on the best plane ever created. Been deployed 4 times, about to be 5. Not much time to ride over there.

34, typing this with six-month-old next to me on couch.

Almost three-year-old helped Proofhide the new Brooks. She loved the mess.

I don't post much, but lurk everyday. Can say it seems the variety of ages are what help make for the lively discussions.

Speaking of Tesla, they just moved into warehouse space about a mile from where I live in Fremont, CA. Tells me they must have money coming from somewhere, or at least a round of VC backing or something because it is MASSIVE warehouse space. I just moved here a few months ago so I don't know what company was in it before, but apparently it was automotive as well.

Also 37, and I refuse to beleive that I'm "old". (Except when I get my ass kicked on X-Box live by a 12 year old.)

Was talking with a friend of mine last night and we're looking into a possible business startup. He's a former LEO forced into retirement due to progressive hearing failure. With my background in OSHA, EPA, FDA, ISO, HAZWOPER and a bunch of other funny acronyms, we're looking at maybe getting into the biorecovery and trauma cleanup business. We've both got good connections on either side of the business, so it could work out well; especially if we look to specialize in the cleanups that no one else wants to deal with.

I sell fence during the week, cook breakfast and lunch on weekends, and work on bikes in my spare time. Which might I add leaves little time for actually riding.

I'm a linux system admin at a web hosting / data hosting / server company. We sell servers and they do what they want with the server. Mostly web hosting though. So pretty much do everything and anything that happens on the internet. From setting up email, to fixing email, to cleaning up a hacked server, to teaching someone on the phone on how to clear their cache. Do some windows work too, but really dislike it and try to avoid it.

RaiderInBlue47 01-23-11 07:12 PM

I'm a cashier at Chuck E. Cheese's. Don't judge me. >_>

I'm majoring in Finance at my school though and my plan is to do a joint MBA/JD program at an Ivy League school (UPenn is my #1) and working in Corporate Law for an investment firm in the Northeast. I kept my 4.0 through last semester's onslaught of calculus-based economics and my Calc III class, so I'm happy. I'm hoping to get an internship with one of the Big Four next summer (one can dream).
