The problem isn't really that the drive side is laced radially on the rear, it's that both sides are laced radially on the rear.

A half radial laced rear isn't too crazy, as long as the non drive side is 2 or 3 cross or whatever. But yeah. Full radial = jackass.

I would argue that because that wheel is probably a flip-flop, even half radial would be jackass as there's no dish. I don't even think single-sided track hubs have enough of a dish to warrant half radial lacing.

I can't tell if thats a man or a woman... knowing the pictures you guys find I think I'm going to go with a shaved legged hipster.

ketto 02-15-11 10:12 AM

If those legs are androgynous you guys hang out with too many roadies.

And those legs are so not androgynous!!! There are other parts of her that are mighty rough, but her legs aren't one of them. Hope I'm not offending anyone...

This may not be jackass (I hope it isn't...this guy has a shop full of rare Italian and English race bikes, and seems very knowledgeable), but it certainly is pretty sad: (Photo is copyrighted, so Flickr is preventing me from posting the image. You gotta follow the link to view)

I think I feel a little bit ill.

I'm going downstairs to hug my bike.

I think an Aerospoke on a conversion should send up some red flags, unless it's a converted TT bike or something, which is kind of jackass in it's own right.

Decent selection of parts on that bike, though.

Squirrelli 02-15-11 02:52 PM

The straps on the Trek are installed backwards and Connor, I don't think posting your own bike is a good idea.

Those actually look quite long to be "TT-slammed wheel dropouts".

Yeah, and the guy posted a photo of it prior to brazing on the hanger: http://www.flickr.com/photos/robsarg...n/photostream/ Since he mainly deals in restos and old bikes, I'm assuming this is one he decided to mess around with.

conbon 02-15-11 03:07 PM

I've come to terms with the jackassery of that bike, and I posted it here because I know how much all of you "enjoyed" it first time around....heres another one of my infamous builds:
