What does everyone think about globes roll 1 and 2?

Basically I'm having a hard time finding a complete w/o 3sq. ft of decals on it. I know that they are overpriced. But I'm weighing my options whether that nice clean blank frame is worth it. Also im a sucker for the threaded forks. Seems that there aren't many completes out there w/ threaded forks these days. I enjoy a more classic style.

So any positives/negaitves or the globe roll bikes? I'd take their tarck-ness down about 10 notches the second I got it w/ some random parts, so i don't want to hear any comments about their color combo b/c i dont like it either.

Seems the big difference between the two is that the roll 2 has sealed hubs and a better crankset. If I bought either, I'd probably switch out the wheels right away anyway.

I don't want to build a bike from scratch. Too much $$ in the end and i know how long it takes to get all the parts, found this out on my last build....
This is also the reason I dont want to get a TT, get it powdercoated, replace a few parts and be in the same place for the same $$$. Plus bikedirects inventory is.....right now.

Yes, I know it's not threaded headset / quill stem, but it's really clean and well made, and looks great.

I didn't even think of fuji....I really like the look of that bike and the components seem to be about of equal quality of the roll 2. I wasn't 100% set on spending ~900 on a bike...

$600 for a bike I won't have to change so much seems like solid choice. Thanks for the suggestions guys, I think I've found what i want

Bikesdirect has a couple decal-less bikes. None of them are threaded, though.

Basically, you can get a lot more bike for that much money.

Do some shopping around. They can be had for a pretty decent price.

Out of the box, you shouldn't have to replace much. The stock wheelset is heavy but solid. I think the saddle is terribly uncomfortable but every butt is different and you may like it. Ride the pedals until you need new ones. The bars, in my opinion, are crap and should be replaced immediately. They're mock "track drops" that offer no room on the tops (unless you choke the stem) and the drop section isn't big enough for an adult-sized hand. The stock tires have really soft sidewalls but as long as you keep them up to pressure and aren't a 300 lb gorilla, they should be fine for a while.

I like the looks of the fuji feather a lot except that gold one they had, I thought that was ugly as crap. The only downside ive heard about the feather is that its heavy but I don't think that should make or break your decision.

The frameset is fairly light. It's mostly the wheelset that make the bike so damn heavy.

i don't like bikes direct bikes that don't come with a full 6900 gruppe after thinking about my fender and brake bosses for three years straight on what is otherwise my ideal street track bike.

I've looked at wabi's, i like them, but i'm just a huge fan of the threaded styling, no so much threadless. I feel like threadless and classic dont go hand-in-hand. I like the look of that sorta faux threaded stem from velo-orange, but i'd like threadless if possible

scrod, i have some extra saddles, bars, tires, pedals and other random stuff like that, so those will be a quick switch. I'll prob look into some new wheels at some point though. Seems to me like it'd be a solid buy thats a small step up from the bikesdirect stuff.

If the OP wanted a threadless setup, there's a vast plethora of decent choices. He's made it pretty clear that he's looking for threaded.

what about a steel langster? i think those are only 660 and that's threaded.

the iros decals are like "look at how fast im going" font, not my thing. though i do agree that they are a great deal/bike.

cc, the via brera is so tempting, but the bike will be one of my commuters to campus. i think its a little too much money, and a little too "steal me". some day ill get something like that, maybe a lugged classic looking bike. i love that via brera frame though

OP sounds too picky for a complete bike, despite saying he does not want to build his own. -.-

The iro is much cheaper than what you want to spend; so use the money you save to get it powdercoated to your preferred color.
