I have seen these for up to $100 and beyond, but they are better than the Sylvian pedals - from what I have heard.

Bikes: Lugged steel

They can be had from Business Cycles here.

$95 a pair, quite steep for a set of clip pedals. They have a very small platform and tend to be rather uncomfortable with non cycling-specific footwear. I.e., pinches, etc.

I have a set of Dura-Ace 7400 clips and like them a lot better than the RX-1's my friend has. The Royal Nuevo may be a nice direction to go, due the slightly larger size.

If you are using these for track only, then the RX would be a good option. Pedals are like seats though, personal preference rules.

What makes these pedals so great that you have to dish out that much for them?

they are actually track-specific - not meant for casual use (unless you can afford $100 pedals for casual use). The Sylvians are for that niche I believe.

Hmm... That's about what I paid for my pedals. But they're clipless and not used casually...

cool. buy me some. I don't have $100 for pedals. My $18 Ofmega rebuilds from eBay are just fine. Add in $5 for toeclips, and $40 for the double sprint straps = $63 and I don't have to wear Star Wars shoes to ride these.

That reminds me. Skitbra wanted me to let you know you left these under his bed...

c'mon now...those are yours. Mine were Yoda.
I hope you remembered to turn off your curling iron this morning Schiek. Skitbra gets angry when you leave it on

I have these pedals - caveat: don't flame me for being a money-wasting sellout, I was given them by my dad who had them around from before his conversion to the clipless darkside.

Not exactly sure what to say about them... they're super as you might expect, since they're worth as much as the rest of my bike combined. Very smooth bearings, super light, ride great. The platform is smaller than any other pedals I've ever seen.

I'd say from my experience riding a friend's bike with shimano 600 pedals that the difference isn't worth that much money though.

I haven't found this to be true but I have really narrow sz9 feet. Some of my pairs of shoes definitely don't "work" with the RX-1s - specifically running shoes with tread don't really fit in right - but I don't have enough experience with other pedals to know if it's specific to the RX-1s. My shoes with flat soles all work fine with no pinching.
