Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Got whacked.

On my main ride, for sure. I'm wicked curious plus it is like a crop with which to continually flog myself. Must. Push. Harder. Spin! Spin!

A friend of mine, when really really drunk, decided to see how fast he could run past one of those. Holy ****, funniest thing I have ever seen. Sometimes his legs were going to fast and he would not be able to slow down. Other times, he was leaning too far forward and fell nad skinned his face. But he keep trying and trying. And injuring himself in the process. Each injury funnier than the last. I could not stop laughing, and whenever we all get together, we just start laughing for no reason.
Best episode ever...

Somehow I manage to type correctly and choose the right words even when I'm off being alcoholic somewhere.

It's morning, so it's coffee right now. I have to go to work soon.

Of course, I suck, so why does it matter?
haha, that's about how I ride my roadies....I stay in the 46-18 about 90% of the time....

...still tempted to give fixies a try, but I gotta wait until I move...shipping three bikes across the country is bad enough..

Don't be hard on yourself for your first try. You are training in stop and go traffic for a steady pace event.
Maybe more weekend rides on a rolling 50 miler?
Definately loose the bag. No lockers?
