Still kicking.
Since I absolutely hate the performance of continental ultrasports, I don't know what I was thinking when I got those tires 2 years ago, I told myself yesterday that I will go back to my normal black tires and tape once I wear through/ cut the rear tire.

I bought 2 set for bikes I had previously bought and figured they would do just fine. Then I got some gatorskins. The ultrasports feel like they are flat, even at proper pressure.

I hate Ultrasports. I have one on my bike now out of necessity and I flatted on it this morning 5 minutes into my commute. I once had a record of 4 flats in 4 weeks with an Ultrasport. It got to the point where buying a new tire was economically smarter than buying more tubes and patches.

Just finished putting this together today:
Untitled by tastewar, on Flickr
It's my 1981 Panasonic DX-2000. Had it stripped and powder-coated, then put almost all new parts on it. Spent a lot more $$ than I should have, but had fun doing it. I think the only original parts are the frame, the fork, and the seatpost binder bolt. I bought the wheels over a year ago. Was watching eBay for an ENO eccentric rear hub, and an auction came up with the hub built into a wheel, and a front wheel to go with it. Have been acquiring the rest of the parts mostly over this summer, after getting it coated. I would choose other tires, but the wheels came with these, and I've already blown the budget, so that will have to wait.

Painfully average.
I've had ultrasports on my girlfriends bike, they've been great. no flats or anything and they feel pretty smooth when they're rolling..
