For a moment there I thought your excess brake cable ran the length of your entire fork.
You should consider getting a setback thomson/ seatpost for your brooks for a more proper reach/ fit.

The fork is fairly tight but comes off the steerer tube at an angle, so its straightness is slightly misleading.

Replaced the drops with risers, I had difficulty coming to terms with the fact that this bike is now the cruiser bike. I rode it as my main and only bike for a long time, now it just gets used for short rides or dinkin' around. I think I'll live.

Ya, I always liked the look of a small steel fork on a beefy aluminum frame, ever since the cdale tracks. Plus, for a fork with low rake, its a lot cheaper than say an alpina or leader. And the steel helps offset the stiffness of the frame for street use. Very happy with how the build turned out.

I meant that if your bike is setup with a lot of saddle to bar drop on any sort of drop bars in such a way that you cannot stay in the drops for very long, it does not mean that the drops are not useful.
However, I am certainly interested in hearing about a century done entirely in the drops with 8 inches from the top of the saddle to the flats.

I mean, I rode this set up on the street for the last couple months with no problem. Bars currently boxed up to go to hamfoh or I'd reinstall them to measure. Really wasn't that bad, and I'd still get down in the drops to keep pacelines or climb hills or Sprint. Man up and quit complaining?

EDIT: Don't get me wrong, I'm not against saddle to bar drop, as long as it fits. I feel like everyone's missed the point of my original statement, which was actually a reply to another post...

I got the point, why set up a bike that's uncomfortable to ride? Ya it looks cool, but then when you tell the interwebz its uncomfortable, they're gonna rip ya a new one. I agree with you, drop can be a good thing. My post was saying just that, since everybody seamed to think drop is the devils magic. Now quick, post something else intelligent while they're all distracted by this post...
