very very well done. rims are PBP; bell is branded 'universal' (i guess it's japanese though); pedals are sylvans, but the cages are KKT pro vics. pulled them off of a touring bike i was working on and got a chuckle when i saw that they were njs. maybe it's more common than i thought it would be.

but can you name what bar and rim tapes i used?

the wheels arrived yesterday, but it was raining pretty hard in the afternoon to put them to use. the weather was perfect today, and got some shots of it before i went on a test ride. so smoooth.

since the first picture, i've changed the wheels, pedals, and seatpost to DA.. and switched the arione for a concor.

Blackburn EX-1 rack
Shimano BR-5600 front brake,Tektro R556 rear
Brooks B17 Champion saddle, Kalin 27.2mm aluminum seat post
CST Compressor 25mm front tire, Bontrager Race All Weather Hardcase 28mm rear
42t Spot chainring
Salsa cork tape
18t ACS Claws freewheel
Woodman Axis SL Comp headset
Bontrager Race Lite ergo bars, Tektro R200 ergo levers, Easton EA50 80mm stem
Odyssey Twisted PC pedals, Catalina straps

The rest of the parts were takeoffs from my Windsor.

Took her out for a shakedown ride this afternoon with the wife, and the bike rolls great. Geometry makes for a very relaxed, stable ride. This will make a great commuter!

Is it okay to have the mounts for the rack bent like that? ^

I don't see anything wrong. The straps that connect the rack to the seatstay mounts are supposed to flex that way. Most of the load is transferred to the dropout mounts.

The rack is designed that way. Those metal strips in the front are only there to stabilize the rack, and they don't carry a load.

Normally, the seatstay straps don't carry any load, however, when accelerating and decelerating they do carry some load.

In the mounting instructions that come with most racks, you're told to bend the brackets to fit the rack to your bike. As long as all the bolts are tight, they really shouldn't flex at all - even with a full load.

Love all the changes you made, I highly aprove. I noticed you also got a shorter stem. I assume it fits better (the important thing) but it also looks better!

(I didn't really like the pink grips either)

Curious: Thompson seatposts seem so popular, why did you decide to switch to Dura Ace?

Yes, continuity and redundancy is good; is that why all the shots of your bike is always non - drive side?

Thanks!

The thompson seatpost is awesome. I was just bored with my setup and wanted to have more consistency through my bike.. which is why i opted for a da seatpost (to go along with the new wheels and pedals). i also bought it for around the same price I could sell my thompson for, so i wasn't losing much by trading out.
