redmond group health marymoor is NOT steep by most track racer standards, but i loved how the kilo felt on the banking. it's not as quick handling as you would want in a seasoned elite race, but it's more than adequate for cat5 beginners. not like a road bike, which i've also taken up banking and is scary in how much it trails.

I raced one my first season at Alpenrose (43 degree banking). Stiffness left a little to be desired, but handling was fine. These days I prefer aluminum for any and all racing though, but the Kilo TT is enough to get you started if you don't mind upgrading down the line.

Anyone happen to know the weight on the stock kilo wheelset? I'm looking to upgrade, and it would definitely help put things into perspective. Thanks!

I see you over there
Yeah, the chain is pretty tight. All of the bike mechanics I've met in person recommend that. I've only heard about chain slack on bfssfg fwiw.

Damn , I own some high dollar bikes , but I just took
my new kilo tt pro for it's maiden voyage and I was impressed with the ride. Nice and stiff no noticeable flex, and the wheels with some high pressure tires rode pretty nice. Definitely a keeper. Real nice for the price. Only upgrades so far are tires , cog , and pedals. Sweet

Jam a book up into your crotch and measure from the spine of the book down to the ground. What number do you get? (This number is your 'inseam.')

I went today to a local bike store and tried a 54 which felt fine. But the Kilo TT comes only in 53-55 I believe? Im worried the 55 is too big while the 53 might be too small. (My inseam is 28-29)

The Flite 100 doesn't come in 54. It's literally the exact same frame - and comes in the exact same sizes - as a Kilo.

Sounds about right. The 50cm has a 52.3cm top tube. If you go a size up, the 53cm Kilo has a 54.8cm top tube, which is probably too long for you.

on Baby Charlie Concept~
do not get 55. i would even rec a 50 instead. im a 32 inseam and 53 is a tad too big for me. 28-29 says you need a 44 or 47. are you talking "center-to-center" or "center-to-top"? cuz we're all talking about c-c here if we're talking about bikesdirect sizes. im so confused...

So basically, my advice to people who aren't sure is to try to ride one if you can, and if not, save up for another month or two and get fitted/test ride something else at your LBS. It will be worth it.
