What's going on here?

So I was reading though my local CL ads, and saw this one for a Trek T1:

Anyways, I read this in the description:

"FSA crank arms with carbon fiber spyder. (slight slippage between the spyder and the crank arm when back peddling)"

What on earth is going on here?

The usual, his lockring is loose, but he's blaming the cranks.
