It's been a while since I last took pictures.

they're nice, but... 1. did you miss focus? looks like wide open and the subject is larger than depth of field. 2. light is somewhat flat. how close to sunset was this?

Hi 7D here.

I shot a lot of film in a past life with a T90 (still have/love that camera), followed by a decade of disappointment courtesy a variety of digital P&S. Finally got a DSLR (D5100) a few days ago and feel unencumbered again. Here's one of my kid that I think is fantastic.

suppose its only right i start with my bike

(just a basic 2 strobe ofc setup. nothing fancy. just a quick shot in my parking lot after i made the changes on my bike)

Thanks guys.
On the first one I bumped the saturation up a tad- not much- in iphoto. That was pretty much how it appeared.
The second one was handheld at 1/5 shutter speed while going ~20mph in my car- its completely untouched.
Ps- koven, I follow you on Flickr. Solid stuff.
