As for wrong white balance, it's not wrong, I just like warming my photos up a bit. Some people like accurate colors, some people prefer cooler colors, I just prefer the warm side. Everyone evolves their own photography and experiment with styles, this is just how I shoot as of now. Anyway, here's a few randoms...

And some old photos without the processing I currently do...

Cool! Do you evr sell off equipment? Trying to get my hands on a 5D mk2 - I do not want to buy a new one, can't get my hands on a refurbed and am starting to believe the rumors of the mk3 coming out.

Any of you guys have an opinions of Ricoh GRD III vs the Canon S95? Looking for a super small camera with good image quality. Same sensor I think, GRD has a better, fixed lens. Coming off film and manual cameras so the simpler the better.

I had a 1st gen GRD. The sensor was amazing. I posted a few shots from it in this thread. I can only assume it got better. The only issue I had was that the flash metering was screwy sometimes. But, again, it was 1st generation. You'd best believe that they fixed that by the 3rd generation. The digital grain/noise was the most organic and film-like of any digital camera that I've ever used or seen images from. And I've used a LOT of cameras. That camera is in my top 3 favorites of all time. ESPECIALLY if you like to shoot in available light. I'm strongly considering getting a GRDIII when I get a new camera.

That being said, you can't go wrong with any Canon point and shoots. Their flash metering is unbeatable. I could out-shoot any partographer's DSLR with a $100 Canon P&S (did I mention that I was a partyographer before Cobrasnake and the like?).

Great shots. Proves it's the indian not the arrow.
I actually had an original GRD briefly but didn't really like the noise. Coming off Tri-X in Rodinal it looked like noise to me, not grain but I might have been too critical. You make it work.
The new ones are supposed to be much better and apparently the RAW write times are not measured on a calendar any more so you can take full advantage of the sensor. Might get one if I can sell my E-P2 body. Just too big for what I want it for. Realized if I was going to bring the E-P2, I might as well bring my "real" camera. Once you need a bag, it's all the same.

This doesn't directly answer your question, but maybe will help:

Ricoh has a better lens and sensor and is ultimately better in low light and available light situations. iPhone is always with you even though the Ricoh is very small.
The Ricoh has a real flash. The iPhone simply has a bright LED light that is not good for "real" photography. It's just good in a pinch when you need to document something...like the serial number on the back of a TV or something haha.

Take a stroll through here to see what people are doing with the GRD III. Be warned, there will be lots of heavy-handed photoshop use. But, hopefully you can see some images with light or no PS work done on them:

Yeah, that was an awesome camera. I think it was one of the first P&S digital cameras that pro photojournalists were carrying around as a pocket/backup camera. I loved it. Sort of bulky in relation to modern cameras, but small-ish for the time (2003 or 2004).

It's too bad canon got a bit too comfortable with their throne for point and shoots these days.... overpriced and with less features.

So, yes, from a photographic standpoint, I'd take a GRD1 over an iPhone 4 if I were strictly taking photos with the device.
Also, the GRD feels awesome. I think it's got a magnesium body with rubber pieces on it. The nicer Canon cameras have metal bodies, too.
You may be right. I haven't done any research lately. I'm a research nerd when I buy stuff. Any purchase over $100 takes about a week of reading. My coworkers can tell. "So, you are gonna get a new [guitar/car/bike/camera], huh?" Because they see me reading whenever I have downtime.
