Bikes: looks like a specialized crux now
My messenger bags usually have a padded bottom and padded back and even then the camera stay inside of another camera bag. my favorite prime lens sits inside of bubble wrap. In 6 + years maybe 7, I have only ever droped one slr while riding and it was my fault.Plus I don't throw my bag around.
So my camera is usually safe in my bag. I carry my camera every time I go out.
And carelton is right, there is a post your pics thread in foo. That would benefit from some of the amazing pictures that are turning up in here.

Love this. Reminds me of Winogrand's Leica:

The smallest camera that I've ever owned was also my favorite. I made hundreds if great photos with it.
Canon SD20

I used it A LOT. I snapped that photo of it before I lost it. I think I left it in a taxi.
Here is a reference pic of how small it is:

Traveling on bike with an SLR is a pain in the butt no matter how you look at it. I hate to say it. I'm speaking from experience. When I shot BMX, I would have to carry my SLR while riding to different spots with the guys doing tricks. I used one of those backpack SLR case things that looked like a school backpack. It sucked. You had to get off the bike and lay the bag flat on the ground to get access to the camera body and lenses.
My advice. Find a small camera and learn how to make great photos with it.

I don't take my work seriously. I just have a 35mm SLR I like to mess around with. most of the fun comes from developing the pictures in the wet lab. If you dig my pics let me know
first thing I ever developed in a dark room, a photogram of muhammad ali

No reason for anyone to be a dick about something they don't agree with. Plus there is no such thing as "wrong" white balance, unless you're going for a specific look and you got it wrong in that case. One person might like a certain look while another will like something completely different.
Personally mucky, I don't care for the color tones in your photos, but you didn't see me whining about it. You might like it and that's fine, doesn't mean everyone has to.. to each his own..

Gilmatic- I've been looking through your Flickr. You've got some great stuff! I wish flickr had pictures big enough to use as a desktop background :/
