Mmm....I love these things, smooth bearings, low profile, long toe clips, light....
Oh, and did I mention that I found two pair in a box of "Bike Parts" for $5 at a thrift store?

Pete! What thrift store do you go to?! I don't know where to go here in PDX.
Sweet find!

Nice. Those pedals are classics!
btw, Business Cycles has the cleats for them if you'd like. https://www.businesscycles.com/tped-shim.htm

Portland seems to have nothing good in its thrift stores these days, too many professional eBay'ers out there.Originally Posted by TheDL

I actually got them in a thrift store on Orcas Island, WA. Parents are up there, tends to be a lot of (rich) hippies that toss good stuff. There is even a bike junkyard/community dump there. I have salvaged probably 8-10 serviceable bikes and sold them as fixes on eBay. Once found an Ideale model 75 leather saddle that I sold for $145 on the bay.
These were truly in a "dream" box. Included with the pedals was a Phil Wood BB tool, Campy peanut butter wrench, Molteni cycling cap, N.O.S. Nishiki headtube badges, some steel Sachs frame fittings for cable routing, Campy D.T. shifters, Suntour V G.T. Luxe rear derailluer, Shimano crank puller, Hozan third hand cable puller, a pile of new toe straps, Mavic branded Look pedals, several random clamps and things, and an old San Marco saddle.
Not bad, and I continue to find great things there. Methinks there was an old school bike shop that closed down and the boss is slowly tossing his collection.

DOH, I was up there in September! I had no idea! Totally bummed now.
Plus PDX has SO many bike shops, many deal in used stuff too so I think most people take their stuff there.

Are you guys into the whole 600 groupe? I've a complete bikes worth minus the brake levers. Pretty much mint. Stupid bike is 64 cm, lugged Chromoly triathelon bike. I bought to strip for my kids bike, she wont need the pedals I think, she'll go platforms.
I could be talked outta some of it, in Can, pm if interested. (The caliper brakes are very sweet looking.)
Shifters are downtube.

i HAD some pedals like the ones from business cycles. got 'em for $20. then when i tried to install them, found out that the left pedal had a RIGHT pedal spindle in it.
.
i used to use the 105 pedals that were designed like those, but then i broke one of the toeclips (plastic) on my way home one night. and i also discovered the wonders that are MKS sylvan track pedals.

least coast
unfortunately, business cycles is sold out of the clips and the pedals are upwards of $150.
this thread encouraged me to brave the cold basement and find the set of 600 pedals
down there but I have only one toe piece and no clips-no cleats-oh well, back to SPD
