Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? ebay find--build project

I found this mountain bike frame while surfing ebay one day and put a bid on it.. Well, I won it for $40 plus $20 shipping It is a Jamis Eureka frame from1999. I was the only bid on the frame, maybe because it is purple in color....... but, I love it.

I was leery about buying a frame on ebay since I couldn't inspect it for damage etc but, it is in good shape. Some scratches in the paint but no major gouges or stress cracks......and it was only $60 too.

It is a nice deep purple color (like Grape Kool-Aid) I plan to build it up as a single-speed bicycle. I have always loved the look and simplicity of single speed mountian bikes.

I will use it as a commuter bike and my RV camping trip--campground bike. Michigan is mostly flat so the one gear will not be an issue for commuting. I'll still use my Trek 520 to commute but, may want to change it up a bit and use a mountain bike with front suspension on some days.

I am already looking for parts on ebay and online stores too. I hope to have it completed by late August or sooner.

Welcome to SSFG (don't mind grumpy Sebster) but I'm pretty confused about what input you're looking to get.
