luckily it stayed out of the wheel. btw when the grips slipped off i nearly impaled myself under the chin on the exposed handlebar end when the bike hit the ground. scariest thing that's ever happened to me on a bike. never, ever again... it seriously was about 6 inches from my throat. lock on grips or no mtbing for me from this day forward. |
guys... no.
The kona i rode last week and the week before. the bike i own is a giant XTC from 2001. it's the one i was riding today, and it's the one that broke. the giant i built for 100 bucks. it's a piece. i haven't even been in the same state of the union as the kona for the last week. the kona was amazing, i didn't have a single mechanical problem on it, and it let me rail **** i hadn't even thought of hitting before. if nothing else, my Giant breaking only makes me want a kona more. |
So you broke the Kona?
How?? |
stop spoonin

I miss trail riding.

You guys better stay away from my kona. ¬.¬

leuky has a RAGING KONER.

ESI grips ftw
light, super ****ing comfy and they WILL NOT move once they're on. Just spray some rubbing alcohol inside them, they slip on easy and stay put. |
I just can't like non-locking grips, just like how I can't like ergon grips.
|
Try the ESI chunkys.
Ive got some ergons on my touring/commuter. |
I can't even stand looking at ergons, let alone trying to ride a bike with them on. I did ride Oakley 3s BITD, though. Is that about the same?

I remember REALLY liking these back in 1990 or so. Might have to grab some off eBay and see if I still do:

A'me is still around. They make a heated grip.

Yeah, I see they're still around, just dunno why those Zone grips are sold almost nowhere. Sure am curious to see what I think of the grips today. The ones I had back then didn't have wire grooves. I remember really liking the low flange on them for some reason.

I like most of what ODI makes. I liked ESI silicone grips okay, but I have some lock-on ODI Ourys right now that are the jam. I have big hands and they are big enough in diameter to help keep my hands from cramping while riding my fully rigid MTB. I've finished rides before where my hand was basically locked into a fist and I had to slide it off the handlebar before I could begin to relax my grip. Not fun.

Went and climbed Mt tabor a couple of times today(maybe 4 or 500ft), rather unpleasant out and legs are a little tender from the 50miles I did last night.
|
Over the weekend I did some climbing.
20% grades are stupid. |
Rwg?
|
Rapha ride this coming weekend guys?
