I still can't believe what happened in Boston. I knew a few people who tried to qualify for the marathon, and some that did but decided it was too expensive to travel there. Makes it so real. And Scrod, its great to hear that Angie's ok.

Today I was able to fight my way through the wind to get in a quick 25 miles. Started sprinkling as soon as I unclipped in front of my door. Also KOM'd a really short segment (actually re-KOM'd, because I had it before, too. Just a bit faster this time around).

What happened in Boston is sickening, prayers and thoughts to the victims and the families and friends of those who died.

Today I got a lot accomplished, cut down the last of the downed trees from Sandy, got in 32 miles and cut out a new bed for my mother's rose garden.

jimmytango 04-15-13 09:22 PM

Scrod, glad you and Angie are ok.

Scrodzilla 04-15-13 09:36 PM

Thanks guys. I literally had a freakout when I saw the first reports of it because I knew she would be down there today. About ten minutes later, she sent me a text that said "I'm alright. Across the street. Talk later. <3" and my heart started beating again.

She saw an awful lot of ****ed up **** today.

Dannihilator 04-15-13 09:54 PM

Glad Angie's ok.

I wonder if there's a toolbox thread anywhere in BF.

Muffin Man 04-15-13 10:07 PM

Probably.

Today, I flaked on my homey, we were gonna go watch the marathon around Boylston before I went into work. Later, on my bike ride to work I heard a couple of cannon blasts coming from downtown Boston. When I got to work I found out about the attack. I thank my luck stars that I didn't go down there today! I pray for all those who were involved in the tragedy.

I will say that instead of running from the explosion, my fellow Bostonians and the brave first reponders all ran toward the blast site to help those in need. This leaves me with hope for all humanity!

Also if you live in the Boston area and can lend a hand please do:

Scrod- Glad you and Angie are ok.

Today I went to the track for an intermediate training session. Found out it counts towards upgrades, yay.

Also found out that 4 weeks off due to injury=laters fitness

Managed to win the Miss and Out practice race, but was too gassed after that to do anything. Maybe I'm not eating enough either.

All in all, today was the most painful 16miles I've ever ridden (lolwut)

Muffin Man 04-15-13 11:30 PM

I wish I could have gone :(
Stupid homework

Today I woke up, watched the new game of thrones episode and then have been waiting for my pay to come through so I can buy some new bike parts. Also it's t-minus three days until I go to my physio and she'll hopefully tell me to go ride my bike again. Quads man, why

Nagrom_ 04-16-13 12:33 AM

Just got home from the track session that ended at 9. **** this commute hahaha.

Still working on the Motobecane. Got the black Tektro levers today, so I replaced the clashing silvers ones. Made the final cuts on the brake cables and housing. Build is nearly complete - just need to put the SL42s and black quill pedals on. I just need Ebikestop to f**kin ship the pedals already. It's been 7 days and they still haven't shipped. Ridiculous.

TheRealFaux 04-16-13 02:35 AM

95% completed with my SSCX build. Hopefully rideable by tomorrow. So excite.

Dannihilator 04-16-13 04:48 AM

Today I have no idea why I am up this early.

Yesterday I became a permanent resident of Canada. Today I have a whole bunch of paperwork to get in order/government offices to visit.

Congratulations and welcome! My wife went through that process so I have a sense of how tedious and drawn out it can be.

Today some crazy fool came into the shop asking if I was interested in trading my Leader 725 for a "bomb-ass home theater system". When I told him I wasn't, he asked if he could take it for a ride. When I said no, he got pissed.

People are hilarious.

hockeyteeth 04-16-13 12:56 PM

You should trade for the stereo. That would be hella money.
