Nicely done.

Any tips on getting your fitness back up after a 4 week injury break?

TMonk 04-17-13 08:34 AM

yeah - take it slow.

The last thing you want to do is re-injure yourself or develop a serious chronic condition. Be very serious about stretching, then ice and ibuprofen after EVERY ride, if possible. I know this may not be what you wanted to hear, but my advice for you is to not push it. Do whatever you were doing right before you injury training wise, but like 1/4 to 1/3 of it, and increase by no more than 10%/week, with periodic rest weeks of course. You'll be fine.

as Ive mentioned before, I took a 3 month injury break in early 2010 w knee issues. You're not as weak as you think and your body will remember once you start training - just take it slow.

EDIT: Also I know you like track sprinting, but heavy lifting and big-gear work might be a no-no for you for a while. Listen to your body. You should be able to work on your basic aerobic fitness, of course.

I PR'd a 1.1mi climb yesterday on my first ride on the Pompino. According to strava I've this done this climb at least 15 times on my track or road bike. 50psi cyclocross tires so fast.

yummygooey 04-17-13 09:26 AM

lol pompino is so heavy too

do u have it set up as a sw8 fixxie?

TheRealFaux 04-17-13 09:48 AM

not sw8 enough, needs a decent set of wheels.

Yesterday - AWESOME Tiny Fix meeting, looking forward to races in May and June already.

Today - Karaoke for the first time in weeks. It's like a drug, man. I miss it (and my friends that I always see there.)

Tomorrow - Fake Limbs and Pissed Jeans at the Empty Bottle.

My social calendar is acting like it's spring, but the weather sure isn't. C'mon warm weather and sun!

There are signs in several storefront windows in my neighborhood speaking out against bike lanes. Today I think they're pretty funny.

Really? You are getting backlash from local vendors? That seems so...surreal.

seau grateau 04-17-13 11:27 AM

Apparently there's some controversy about putting bike lines on the major road in my neighborhood. LA people love their cars.

That is really interesting. Hopefully they can generate some good info/leads for investigators.
I almost expect to see a few pics, names, addresses, socials posted up real soon.

Today I was reminded yet again how awesome Retrogression is. And I drank all the coffee.

That's all, folks.
