You should post up your route in the touring forums, you are likely to get some good advice.

Just a quick glance shows that you are passing up some good terrain, why going inland in Nor CAL rather than coast? What about Oregon? What route did you plan on taking across washington, mountains to sound trail? There are better options in my opinion. Alos, missing southern Utah, zion, bryce, moab? And travelling through the flatness of Idaho?

I'm hoping you didn't just try to choose the flattest route... Riding through the central valley of cali will be hell, and the flatland of ID is boring. Just my opinion and you can ignore it.

What bike are you taking?

Today a did a full set of Rippetoe squats, followed by overhead presses courtesy Rip, then a cleans courtesy of the same gentleman. Tomorrow I will run a great deal and still be slower than my running partners..and in a couple years I will actually be strong again :)

My bad. I forget most people don't know what drum corps is haha.
We bus to shows, so I'm basically going to be living in a seat on a coach for 3 months.

Show excerpt from last year.

My just-previous drum major here at school used to march for the Madison Scouts. Dude lost a ton of weight because of living in a bus seat.

I don't think I could ever march an all male corps. I just can't do it.
I lost like 20 lbs last season. Its great because you can eat as much as you want, but you're working so hard everyday that you still loose weight.

Neat! 4chan/anon can be capricious, but you don't want to be on their bad side.

Apparently there's some controversy about putting bike lines on the major road in my neighborhood. LA people love their cars.

Are you downtown? I know there's uproar over Spring Street, but I haven't heard much anti-bike lane stuff outside of that. Especially not here by the beach :)

Nah, up in Eagle Rock. I was reading up on it today; neighborhood council is pushing for bikes lanes on Colorado Blvd, and a few stubborn sissies are mad about it because they think it will **** up traffic and add an extra two minutes onto their drive to the freeway.

This so much.

When I stopped riding, I must have sneezed a good 6~7 times in a row. So irritating.

striknein 04-17-13 09:00 PM

Did homework (nailed it), took a nap (nailed it), bought some b-day gifts for the wife (nailed it), organized the workbench with all my new tools (kinda meh), and stripped my Fuji down to the bare frame (sad about it). Not bad considering I didn't actually get started with my day until around 2:30pm. My neck has been totally jacked up for 3 days though, it's making it really hard to do what I gotta do.

I got great news from Cheryl's cardio doctor.

Her heart is performing at only "just below" "normal" range.

Sixty Fiver 04-17-13 09:28 PM

Spent a good part of the day f'ing with my car... just had the exhaust system serviced and tweaked and now all the ignition parts have been replaced (new wires, cap, plugs, rotor) for what was probably the first time in 20 years.

My old Nissan is an easy car to work on and was already running pretty smoothly... now it is just a little smoother, gained a few hp, and should get even better mileage.

Portland beckons...
