decided to try my backpack for commuting this week. Osprey Flapjack. finally cut out the laptop sleeve that took up too much room.
trued wheels and cleaned/lubed chain. |
Got my partner a flatbar road bike to tag along with me on longer rides...who knew changing gears could be so difficult for some.

Today I avoided so many crashes while on my road ride.
|
He's never ridden a bike with gears before. Totally blew my mind. I just kept shouting "thumb" and "index finger"
Things got squared away fairly quickly. |
...got yelled at by a couple of roadies who were riding side by side occupying bike lanes for both directions and were coming at me head on.
|
Finally got the brakes sorted out on the stumpjumper. Feels much safer now.
I also spent some time organizing the work bench. |

One of them was. I made a left turn from bike lane to bike lane (Lanes were on left side of street so I didn't have to enter any vehicle traffic) and after the turn I see them half a block ahead coming straight at me. One of them yells "what the *&%$ are you doing?!" while I'm just riding straight in my proper lane.

You should have clotheslined him.
|
just put in my first solid ride on my new bike, which features a dura ace 7800 crankset. will get pics soon.
RE: crankset All I gotta say is wow. I have never experienced stiffness, aesthetics, and especially front shifting performance quite this good, and I have used many other high-end cranks. These things are phenomenal. |

Yesterday I: crashed, then rode 48 miles, PRed some stuff, went to get a professional fit, partied at Rapha for the Women's Prestige ride, then had pizza.
Today I'm sore. Some road rash and I think bruised ribs. I hope I feel better enough to race Sea Otter on Friday and Saturday. P.s. crash wasn't my fault. My riding partner didn't see or hear a right turn call. I turned, he didn't :( I could have recovered but I was on the tops and chatting. Wamp wamp. |
today im scouring prismaticpowders.com for colors

Today I realized I need a setback seatpost; trying to ride in the drops is like touching my knee caps, no bueno

Today I rode my bike on a nice cruise. I've been riding everyday since I've had my bike and wow I can't stop, all I want to do is ride. It's been awesome, I wish my roommates wanted to ride so I didn't go by myself all the time :(
