Just put the first real miles on the KinLins.

Wow factor.

Mumonkan 04-21-13 03:24 PM

today i did 70 miles, enjoyed the **** out of it. feels great to ride a bike that just feels like air and not a 30 pound blob of steel

pr'ed a section i pass through on my commute home and i obliterated my previous speed of ~17 mph with 22.2 mph

also 5th on a roadie cycling club segment, the A level ("fast" speed) ride

Street rider 04-21-13 03:48 PM

Rode 31 miles in the wind. The first 20 miles or so were with a friend who is really new to riding, so we took it a bit slower. And just a few hundred feet from the entrance to my apt complex, i came really close to getting in an accident. **** about gave me a ****ing heart attack.

cc700 04-21-13 04:32 PM

yeah... i'm having a hard time pulling that trigger though.

Leukybear 04-21-13 04:46 PM

What happened cc?

SpeshulEd 04-21-13 04:58 PM

Fun times all around yesterday but I failed at getting on the bike this weekend. It's 90 and sunny right now, but the sunburn I got yesterday is making me want to avoid the sun today.

hailandkill 04-21-13 05:18 PM

today I got sick of my ugly saddle bag and did this with a pedal strap and a Thomson seat post bag:

GMJ 04-21-13 05:21 PM

Fancy idea, but it looks like it can still slide forward.

hailandkill 04-21-13 05:34 PM

Went on a 55 mile bumpy ride today and it doesn't budge. Just gotta pull the straps tight. I use a double strap so it's more secure

Today I got a decent amount of miles in, then I learned what all the parts of a bike are named.

Today me and my sqrlfriend helped my grandma paint her kitchen. Then we all watched Skyfall and ate pasta.

Lol'd @ "???"

today my elbow joints hurt after that ride

whats that about?

GMJ 04-21-13 06:53 PM

Do you ride with elbows locked?

Finally getting a "new" saddle. My current SLR leather upper is held on by electrical tape.

nevar, though i was trying to ride in the drops more than usual so that could be a contributing factor

aparently i also got sunburnt like a mother****

cc700 04-21-13 08:32 PM

lol at hangy jawn

my derailleur got sucked up on a gripless ride downhill at tiger mt.

luckily it stayed out of the wheel.

btw when the grips slipped off i nearly impaled myself under the chin on the exposed handlebar end when the bike hit the ground. scariest thing that's ever happened to me on a bike. never, ever again... it seriously was about 6 inches from my throat. lock on grips or no mtbing for me from this day forward.

Dannihilator 04-21-13 08:49 PM

Today I had to launch a hard acceleration in order to get by a fred who was riding fairly erratically.

Nagrom_ 04-21-13 08:51 PM

Today I rode with my sqrls dad for a bit. Not usually the most lively ride. We averaged 15 over 25miles. I small ringed the whole ride.

The small ring is cool. I'm gonna start using it more. Spinny.

Scary! Hairspray or spraypaint while mounting grips are other options.

cc700 04-21-13 09:17 PM

service removable was important here, as it was my first ever bike with gripshifts and i was only trying them out. also, budget was the name of the game, so cutting them off to remove the shifters wasn't something i was willing to try.

LesterOfPuppets 04-21-13 09:20 PM

Hairsprayed on ones don't require cutting off, just a little squirt of something in there will get 'em free.

I also like to leave about 1/4-3/8" gap from shifter to brake lever clamp in order to make cable change without grip removal possible on gripshifts that require a bit of pulling apart for cable change.

FakeFuji 04-21-13 09:36 PM

Also I plug the bars before I put grips on, it helps the bars from cutting the end of the grip like a cookie cutter. And I just wet the inside of my grips with a tiny bit of water
