Today I ... started a rather lengthy process of putting away money so I can move in the next year or two.. hopefully to a place that's more bicycle friendly, among other "important" things..

Bought the most dangerous bike I've ever owned for $50.

Nice knowing you all.

Angle grinders are cheap, effective and there is a lot to be said for recycling metal :D

Looks good, perfect for the warmer weather we should be having.

Is that a garlic necklace in the background?

Yeah I'm hoping it's a helmet-head-proof cut too. Not a garlic necklace (lol), a lei.

I personally know very few girls that can really pull off short hair, but you really rock it. My ex chopped all hers off and it looks terrible. Lolololz for days.

But props to you for making it work

Thanks. Took me a while to get used to having short hair after I shaved it last year, but now i love it.

Today I have my first showing of my house since it's been on the market (since Monday). Cleaning cleaning cleaning and strangely nervous.

Today the $12 kmc d101 ebay chain came in. Even with my wheel slammed in the drop outs its to short for my ratio (48x16). Just barely to maybe a half link would work. would i have any problems doing that?

That's why I didn't order one.

96 links? My 710SL was 114, and I didn't remember cutting 20 links off...

I quickly read the listing at work and bought it without reading it twice. I bought it thinking it was only missing the manual box and master link only.

If it seems too good to be true...

Today I packed up and came home from school, unloaded the van, and then immediately put on a kit and hammered out 40 miles in the wind. Haven't unpacked a single bag or box yet. And the best part was when I pulled up in the driveway to the smell of tacos for dinner. Hella rad.

Had a conversation with my dad on the way home, too, about what we wear while riding. He asked if I wear anything under my bibs, and when I said no, he got all weirded out. Any of you guys have an under-bib/short garment?

seau grateau 05-04-13 07:12 PM

Did 30ish miles, ran into a group of folks riding in support of bike lanes on the way home so I tagged along on my way to the grocery store. Beer currently cooling in fridge.

seau grateau 05-04-13 07:13 PM

And no, only nerds wear stuff under bibs.

Feel free to call your dad an idiot.

Today I rode a fixed metric with some MuffinMan and a few others. Was good times.

Muffin Man 05-04-13 07:49 PM

Is it bad that I'm actually kinda tired from that?

Base layers for the upper body when it's cold out is ok.

Today I had my best road ride in awhile.

Haha, had enough of that growing up in Philly. I'll keep enjoying my sunshine for a bit longer.

Actually I wear a base layer when it's hot. It keeps you a bit cooler.

Is that science? I was never good at science.
