Today I swam nearly 2 miles at practice, total adds up to 4 or so miles or so in the last 2 days. Also I get to do some medicine ball workouts a 100m Time Trial this afternoon. My arms are killing me.

Cool morning here in pdx... went out with the wife this am and will be going to Sellwood to cruise the abundant antique shops there this afternoon and the weather is supposed to be glorious.

have always come to Portland in the fall and winter and it does not look like I will see any rain while I am here...

Remember that the last 50m matter more than the first. Its easier to make up a slow first half than to survive the last 50.

Today I rode 58 miles at a nice, moderate pace. Feels good man. Now I'm about to go dunk in the ocean and take a little nap on the beach.

Of course. We warm up, stretch and warm down every day, plus I never push it too hard if I don't need to (twss).

Today the stripping that began with my new-to-fixed gear self pace pedaling and skip stopping with an improperly tightened lockring and cog has finally progressed to the point where the fixed side of my hub is unrideable. Switched my new drops out for the old flat bar and front brake, riding it singlespeed for now. Tomorrow I'm going to pick up a cross top brake lever from the LBS and at least put my drops back on. Then, pinch my pennies for a wheel rebuild.

Oh well, lesson learned- and I'm still rollin'!

The big bowl of homemade peach cobbler I was presented with upon walking into the office is pretty damn good too.

Today I helped my little brother move into his dorm. After I tried on a 54cm Felt TK3 at an LBS. Fit me well, and good news is that the geometry is than same for the TK2, which I'll be saving up for to use next track season.

Today I felt better on the mtb, but time to set that bike aside for a long time now.

Just got back from my night ride... nearly got sprayed by thinking a skunk was gopher standing up. Because there was barely anybody on the streets I took up the entire lane, rode in the opposing lane, zigzagged through them, etc. ticketable jackassery.

I love to midnight/early AM rides along pacific coast in the San Diego County area. The breeze is wonderful, the view is great, and there are no cars so all lanes, including incoming, are all yours. Good to see someone else taking advantage of this, Leuky

This morning I stopped to watch two guys - one in a Range Rover, the other in a Jeep Cherokee - stop side by side at a red light and get into an extremely heated argument because the dude in the Range Rover cut the guy in the Cherokee off. It was pretty laughable because they were literally the only two cars on the road (this was at around 5:30 AM). The light turned green, they both pulled into a dentist's office parking lot and their argument blossomed into a beautiful fist fight. At one point, one of the guys noticed me watching from across the street and yelled "What the **** are you looking at?" to which I responded, "Idiots". They got back to insulting each other and I went on my merry way.

It's weird because it's just a little, laid back beach/college town - but there are a lot of aggro d-bags/wannabe tough guys here and everyone drives like a complete *******.

Those guys are idiots.

Today I continued my week long tradition of early morning swim practice. It was raining like crazy but the lightning subsided and we only had to practice 25 minutes late (we swim in an indoor pool). I did a 100m Butterfly time trial (4 laps at full gas) and now I'm tired. Time for food.
