Today I was in a 5.9 magnitude earthquake in VA. Luckily it wasn't as dramatic as it sounds. Just the building waving up and down a few inches for about 10-15".

I felt that here in Raleigh too

I'm banged up but otherwise OK. Front wheel is pretty much done for and my fork is bent just enough where I'd have a serious problem riding it, knowing something's not right. And hamfoh, to answer you question:

Today I made the spicyest Couscous ever!! not cool-way too hot. then I walked over to my friends house where I got a ROAD BIKE!!!!!!!!!!
I rode it to the LBS to get some parts it needed. It feels really awkward riding Freewheel.I dont like it....but it will help me win my race coming up.

Today I saw this guy "place" his cannondale into the bike rack on campus and walk away. I almost wanted to hide/testdrive it just to make a point. A few hours later I saw some guy's shoes next to a fixed gear with what had to have been the loosest chain ever.

found out that nobody in the city currently has grey handlebar tape. oh, and I felt that earthquake too.

today i spent $300 on books/art supplies and I'm not even done buying crap yet :(

then I saw the 2012 omniums are out and I just bought 2 sets in the last 4 months (different bikes) :(

Meh I can't tell the difference... well maybe trying to install them on a frame that is stingy in crank clearance.. and possibly the placebo effect of a better GXP BB from the 2nd revision of the 1st edition.. cheer up!

Today I decided that I'm pretty much fed up with my Omniums (the clicking is back...again) and will be swapping them out for some black 75s.

I swear my clicking returned today too. for a second I thought my chainstay had ghosted again

Never experienced clicking in my Omniums, I guess i'm just lucky.

Totally feeling for a night ride today. :D

Today I had my first day of school. Didn't get pushed into many lockers but some freshmen insults were thrown around. Shortly after school I swam again, this time hard. 10 100m (4 laps) all out kicks with fins and a board. We went all out on the first one and tried to keep that time throughout the next 9, with 1 minutes of rest in between.

My body hurts.

Srsly. Every day I sit here looking at a bunch of 75s on the shelf wondering why I'm dealing with such bull****. Enough is too much!

I had not felt one for some years, was in LA in 1994 for the Northridge event.

My boss/counterpart at work had never felt a quake before and didn't know what it was. Our manager (Japanese) knew right away and said something like yeah yeah earthquake, so what? :p

I figure we (at work) were about 150 miles from the epicenter. It was really minor like small slow waves. However, it apparently ties for the strongest earthquake on record for Virginia. It has now been decreed "The Great East Virginia Earthquake" :p because my company refers to the "Great East Japan Earthquake" in official company documents.

Today I kissed my wife goodbye... am heading back north to make sure our nest is warm and to start all the immigration paperwork.

Will be back in PDX in just over a month... now I am just waiting for my flight out.

Bought a racing license for a race this weekend that will most likely be cancelled due to hurricane Irene.

My new Tiemeyer is headed to Spectrum Powder Works this week for painting.
