Only 9 miles today. I was going to keep going (doing loops on a circular hill), but I looked up and saw the clouds. Right when I turned around to head back, I started feeling the rain.

Maybe. It looks like I may get hired soon, so I want to get a sporty Al frame for fixed riding and take my steel for a more relaxed SS ride. I have most of the parts need to do this

Today I:

Drove the 7 hours round-trip to my uncle's house to pick up my Dad's bicycle. I had put that bike together in 1989 with used frame and parts from the LBS that was close to where we lived then (they did not know what the frame was). I gave it to him in 1990 when I left to go to college. He used it as his main transportation until he could no longer ride due to a lung condition. Through his illness, a lung transplant, recovery, and around nine good years, he kept the bike with him, but never rode it again. When he went into hospice care last August (2010), the bicycle disappeared. I noticed that it was gone, but many other things had changed and a bicycle was low on the importance list at that time. At his memorial service in March (2011, he died in February), one of my uncles mentioned that my dad had asked him to keep the bicycle for him, and it was mine to pick up whenever. Today I finally went to pick it up.

And posted in C&V asking for frame ID help.

Today I got up ate and went to do a final harvest and took my veggies to the market. set everything up and left. from there I raced to the coffee shop to get my double expresso. biked home and had another breakfast. from there I went to SL where I did my first alleycat. I got 2nd place and I was killing everyone until the last objective. which was find the nearest Mc Donalds, snap a picture of the M and get back. I got beaten by a local who new exactly where it was. but for me it was all for fun and I had a blast. It will also be my last most likely I dont like zipping around the city dangerously running lights. I got my prizes and raced back to my house in Hayward where ate an huge meal. I left the house eating a pb&J. went to work. Got out. went to my house. changed. went to Castro Valley to pick up my backpack from Area Cycles(LBS). from there I went up to HHS Garden to harvest some blackberries. Then I mashed down some East Bay Hills. Now I find myself listening to Frank Sinatra, eating Black Berries. Im hungry

I get bored easily. I initially tried it on the front wheel only to discover the black finish wouldn't come off and I didn't get my equipment out for nothing so I did the pedals instead.

I used a very fine grit sandpaper. Finished it off with mothers Aluminum/Mag polish.

Hopefully not if you weren't doing it for a feminine companion.

If that was the case I would make a hot breakfast.

Today I got a flat with my brand new gatorskins :(

Then I realized that my CO2 pump was broken.

Bummer.

Tonight, I barely made it home ahead of the rain. It is pouring now, but it was drizzling when I was riding back.

Thank you bike gods

hamfoh 08-13-11 11:31 PM

today I had to stop early in my ride and fix my chain tension, I swear these phil hubs make me ******** or require the tightening of a hulk to be set right. jesus christ. oh and then while practicing skids in a parking lot I thought I felt the cog move... again... a week later. I tried to recreate it but I couldn't, so I'm hoping it was somehow.. something else

Oh and I took the 725 out for the first time since adjusting the seatpost/seat angle and flipping my stem. My god it feels like a different bike, though I feel like a heavy gust of wind can blow me over on this thing. I don't know how srod rides it with an aerospoke, the thing responds to everything on the road.

DirtyBusiness 08-13-11 11:52 PM

Ordered some trekking bars for my bike and rode 26 miles.

DirtyBusiness 08-13-11 11:53 PM

And I think I finally got my seat adjusted where I want it. :-)

Aha at least yours aren't that you crashing and going down an embankment/ hillside... scarier is when you're able to sometimes dream what actually happens in the future. :notamused:

Today I made the mistake of riding by a small, marshy lake during the high humidity hours. My new jersey has the corpses of a couple hundred gnats on it now.

NICE!! I love doing that route. I usually come in from Skyline Blvd->Alameda. What route did you take to get to the science center?

EpicSchwinn 08-14-11 03:35 PM

Today I want to go riding around Bellingham but it's cold/cloudy/windy. That's mid August in the PNW for you. I might just HTFU and do it anyway.
