My threadless BB cartridge loosened up for the third time in a week! It worked fine all summer, so I'm thinking the colder temperature made the aluminum cups shrink more than the steel shell and thus lose grip.

Enough of that crap! Pulled the threadless cartridge, reamed the shell, tapped it for Italian threads and installed a vintage Campy bottom bracket instead.

Oh good one.. maybe next time; anyhow I wasn't wearing one which would've made me look a bit uncalled for. I'll have to find a way to deal with the chrome pawns/ ivans through....
Nonetheless the only chrome bag I have here is my wife's red ivan; which makes me look official and hauntingly memorable when I do it to the kiddies.

That's fun and all, but how do you know they don't actually a ride a bike? You can't be sure, can you? I walk around campus after locking my bike. Do I need to be in full kit and clipless pedals with a helmet clipped to my bag strap so that everyone can tell I'm a sw8 hipster cyclist?

Also, there have been occasions that I've not ridden my bike to school, am I supposed to have a different bag for that?

It's called cyclist's intuition. ;) Also because I've always seen those people along my runs and they've never been on a bike. In addition you can tell from the way they dress.

For your second question. Yes. Or else I track you down and smack you in the back of the head from behind yelling, "where's your bike bro?".

EDIT: Alright, I won't deny it; I admit that I hate that chrome has officially gone mainstream. I no longer feel special with a chrome bag.
I do like chrome and their business practices and ideals through; they deserve to go mainstream. :thumb:
Hopefully they don't sell out to the profit motive.

Me too! I was recently thinking about how much a large bag actually makes sense for my daily needs; I also thought about how annoying it would be to deal with the constant stream of hipster jokes :/ That seatbelt + high school = disaster

It dwarfs her somewhat width - wise due to her being slim but she's a taller gal; it works out visually.
She doesn't mind through considering she can go out and about while not worrying about purchasing/ finding stuff that she won't be able to carry home on bike. But a downsize would be nice when the price is right.
She originally got it in a clearance/ blowout at our LBS back home; LBS's that serve mostly roadies that carry fixed culture stuff that doesn't move much FTW.

Cut my hair. Too long to too short, only way I roll.

PluperfectArson 10-29-11 01:31 AM

Today, I watched the Girl Next Door (not Elisha Cuthbert one), Trick 'r' Treat, and am now currently watching John Carpenter's the Thing.

Tomorrow, I do homework, buy my roommate a new 3lbs box of Oreo's because I ate all of his while he was away, then go see Human Centipede 2.

Nobody ever invites me out. :(

yeah from previous rides this one was a let down for sure. it finally got semi cold here the last two days and people wimped out on costumes. probably only 25% of the ride dressed in one

jimmytango 10-29-11 02:40 AM

Chicago Critical Mass was rad. It was my first one, and I did the whole thing with Misskaz. She's rad. If you ever have the chance, hang with her.

nuhtowel 10-29-11 08:10 AM

Today I shaved my legs, arms, and pits for our last swim meet of the year. We are going to go H.A.M.

misskaz 10-29-11 11:19 AM

Today I am surprised I am not significantly more hungover.

Yeah, it was fun! Thinking of doing CM more often now.

Jaytron 10-29-11 11:49 AM

Today I did some climbing.

14% even on the roadie is kind of ouch.

AH, I was looking into the MW Sanction. Think it's a nice bag for people on the medium smaller side.

hamfoh 10-29-11 01:01 PM

Pic from last night's ride. I'm the Clydesdale. I'm also only about 6', the girl next to me is in the 4'11 range

JAY JAY! JAY JAY!! Haha.

Anyhow, today I woke up sore. At the end of CM I got nailed by a car when my group got separated from the rest. No damage to myself or my bike other than a couple scuffs and bruises. I got some good airtime on it though haha.

And Ham, I know the feeling. I'm 6'4" and hung out with a lady who is 5'1" all night.
