Anyhow, today I woke up sore. At the end of CM I got nailed by a car when my group got separated from the rest. No damage to myself or my bike other than a couple scuffs and bruises. I got some good airtime on it though haha.

And Ham, I know the feeling. I'm 6'4" and hung out with a lady who is 5'1" all night.

I was wondering if you were going to be sore today. Sucks :(

I'm off to go hang with a friend that is working an alleycat checkpoint today. Guess this is an All Bikes, All the Time weekend for me. Not complaining, and it's kind of cool to go from critical mass+bike party to alleycat checkpoint to cross race all in one weekend.

Today I built my 722 and I'm pretty happy with it, despite having no desire to leave the warmth of my apartment.

I missed Halloween CM because I have been out of sync and thought Halloween was in a few weeks :( But I spent my time making a Frankenstein painting :)

Cool!

hamfoh 10-29-11 03:00 PM

thought halloween was in a full weeks? I'm guessing your job doesn't deal with deadlines or due dates.

hairnet 10-29-11 05:19 PM

job?

Practiced track-standing for about 20 minutes.

Biked to my work to see what the commute would be like. Got told by someone in a car passenger seat to "get off the road man!".

Took some pics of the bike.

Time for UFC 137.

Today I realized that due to a run in with a car last night during CM (before the drinking started) I'm bruised, sore, and the un-proud owner of a cracked helmet. Bike is fine, phone is fine, just the helmet.

BigglyPuff 10-29-11 06:31 PM

Edited. Yikes, dunno what I was saying.

Today I learnt and became familiar with my first Track bike a PINO MORRONI (made in Detroit). It was very cool.

Today, despite having a bad cold, I went on a 30mi ride with some friends through the rolling hills north of Spokane and up to Bear Lake. Also another friend of mine finished his Peugeot conversion with my old Eigthinch wheelset.
Eastern WA in the fall is so picturesque. This is the lake we rode to:

Today I:

Rode 6 miles on mah new-to-me SLR... That thing feels really good. Can't wait to ride the distance and really feel what it's like.

Today I got my replacement wheel in and went for a ride. Velocity Aerohead to shimano 105.

I also wanted to kill myself after going to tarck, finding this thread-

http://forums.mtbr.com/29er-bikes/ca...rk-745314.html

And reading 8 long pages about some ******* who had a component on his bike break and ended up suing the company. Derp. "im ridin rigid carbon mtb fork, snaps at steerer. it can't be my fault because I'm perfect. i like free money."

with some "forks should never fail. they should last forever. they tested it wrong. i already bought 2 of these forks, but won't put them on now and won't return them" mixed in.

Have you guys ever seen these bags before?

Click for link; BF SS/FG disclaimer: this link contains prolly which has been proven by BF SS/FG as carcinogenic toward one's health and mental well being.

~Today I didn't feel that well in the morning, so I decided to sleep in instead of heading out to the meet up spot for the group ride and instead did a lot of catching up with work and stuff to do around the house. Later, I made lunch for my wife and rode all the way downtown to deliver it to her hipster messenger style. She was surprised when she opened up the box and found PB&J's which I used to buffer the philly cheese steak sandwich I had made.

Lilcphoto 10-29-11 11:15 PM

my link was prolly too . . . how sad

But onto the meat and potatoes... I really don't quite like hauling around that big of a bag. I rarely carry a spare lens.

redpear 10-29-11 11:16 PM

I've seen them only in a shop, not in the wild. I also do not know anyone who uses one or who has bought one. They're pretty new one the scene, so that definitely plays a part. I like the detailing--not sure if there is enough volume and durability to warrant the price though.

Well at least I had the decency to forewarn. :p

Yeah, and you thought MW bags were a premium. I'm more looking for a internal solution for DSLR protection if you guys have any ideas.
