I suppose having an obscenely long 80mm valve would have snapped sooner or later with the pump i chose to get... Just didn't expect it to happen so soon...

I just bought a Kilo TT.

Whoops.

Was really impressed with the one I got for my gf, and I wanted a beater/winter bike for school. The $299 one in my size at bikeisland was too tempting to pass up.

Tried risers for the first time. They're fun.

I finally rubbed the paint off of the bb shell to reveal the serial number.

Soo the 105 parts I bought for my brother to build his bike are now mine by suggestion of the parents. They think he should have the older parts on my bike :-P

got the leader fork in, realized i had no star nuts, had the lbs install because i like them and am lazy, and rode the ftp for about 22 miles, stopping at home briefly to grab spd pedals and a camera.

avner 06-29-11 04:23 AM

Today I ate it for the first time since I've started riding.

(p.s. no major injuries other then a bruise to my ego, hip and a couple cherrys on my elbow and knee.)

Scrodzilla 06-29-11 05:37 AM

Early this morning I received word that one of my favorite regular customers at the shop had a massive heart attack last night and didn't make it.

Total bummer. :(

Yeah...he was in his mid-50s with two daughters. He was in the woods with a few other guys on a MTB ride when it happened.

Philthy Bastard 06-29-11 09:17 AM

Today I enrolled in a CPR class.

"Yesterday I"

For my birthday, mia familia pooled together and got me a 3DS. One of the coolest features is the pedometer and SpotPass. It keeps track of what time you walked (though for some odd reason you cant get detailed information on the steps it took for "this walk") and I accidentally set the clock 12 hours off so half my steps are on one day and the other are on the next... but I ended up with 12,014 steps yesterday!

Today I might just end up surpassing the 12K steps as I plan to walk over to the east side as long as the weather is nice. FYI a mile is around 2k steps so I went roughly 6 miles

Had my second 'biff' on Sunday. I had ridden a bit over 80 miles from Olympia to the Pacific Ocean. My ride back couldn't find where I was waiting so I hopped back on the bike to go look for them. Combo of exhaustion, not paying attention, and annoyance led my front wheel into some sand on the side of the road =[. Landed on my back right on my cell phone (jersey pocket). Then my lady, who did an awesome job making it there with me, narrrowly missed my head and proceed to fall on me

Yesterday I:

Did some pacelines at the velodrome, had a lot of fun. Tried hanging with the advanced group behind a motorcycle pacer, luckily I dropped in when they only had four laps left. Those guys were fast.

Scrod, I'm so sorry, that's terrible news. My thoughts are with his friends and family.

Today I am investigating the possibility of putting my platform/clipless combo pedals on my SS and putting regular clipless pedals that I already own on the commuter/touring bike. But that leaves me with no foot retention when I wear street shoes on the SS and no foot retention makes me sad. And I wear street shoes on that bike a lot. Hmmm.

Thanks guys. He was one of those oddball characters who would regularly pop in with coffee and snacks just to shoot the **** and we're going to really miss having him around.

To make matters slightly worse, I swung by the shop for a bit today to find that a bunch of parts he ordered for his new 29er arrived in today's shipment. I couldn't help but weep a little as I opened the boxes.

Leukybear 06-29-11 01:29 PM

I find myself back in san diego.... but I find my trico iron case carrying a totally different animal this time... a ndnncoaale actrk...
Finally got around to plan it together, as I recently figured if I have it why not ride it instead of having it just as a table ornament? That's what $200 fuji track pros are for. Pics soon. Just missing some terribly belated nitto bars from scrod. Question now is SDVC66's or shamals?

yummygooey 06-29-11 01:31 PM

Shamal for the Cannondale Tarck, Reynolds for the FTP (if you don't use it for a table ornament)

My condolences go out to his family and friends.

Sorry to hear that Dave, losing people you know always sucks.

seau grateau 06-30-11 12:06 AM

Today was boring.

Yesterday I handled financial business with my university (I hate all those people), got a cheeseburger and a beer for lunch, then went for a quick 8 mile or so ride on a river-side bike path. Did a low-gear spin from one end to the other, then turned around, jumped to the high gears and mashed back to start fast as hell. Tons of fun.

yummygooey 06-30-11 05:30 AM

Yesterday I sold my bass effects pedalboard and a beater bass. Now I'm down to a 115 cab, a 300W head, and my Stingray 5. I want to sell the 115 cab and pick up a 112 and a Korg Pitchblack and call it a day.

jdgesus 06-30-11 09:40 AM

ment to post this yesterday, but i drank too much beer

"yesterday" i rode my first fixed century
