Well THAT's certainly a reason to be stoked.

This week is turning out to be an absolute **** storm. A falling out of sorts with one of my best friends, depression came back to visit, my landlord is telling me that although we got rent caught up we did it too late and we are still getting evicted, I will easily clear 70 hours at work, and I'm not going to be able to go to my friend's wedding next weekend because I need to find a place to live. At least I still have my bike, right? |
Today I got a replaced the chainring and chain and put in 50 miles, then serviced the headset.
|
just did a quick 23 mile ride and spotted 3 beavers on the side of the road
im technically in NYC...? lived here all my 26 years and never heard of anyone seeing these little fuzzballs here |

I lived in my VW van one summer in the 90s while pulling 60 hour weeks. Membership at the community center pool/weight room/showers was only $17. I was full blown rich that summer.

Today I:
Slept until I woke up. Wrenched on two project bikes. Rode ~33 miles. Cleaned up most of the parts that came in this week. Went grocery shopping. Ate supper while re-sizing and uploading photos. I'm done for today.

Marinated and roasted a pork loin for my in-laws tonight. Wife made a nice summer salad. Now we're sitting and watching a documentary about Dr. Bronner (peppermint soap guy). He's a complete ****ing nutcase.

Damn that looks good Tom

Is that an invitation for everyone to come over for dinner? :p
Today I found somebody had left an iphone 4 on the trunk of our car. The only catch is it was a waterlogged from the looks of the screen. Considering this was a shopping mall without any aquatic outdoor attractions, common sense made me pick up the phone with a plastic bag before proceeding to rinse off the spot it was on our car. |
Today I installed my 105 pedals onto my 7710 cranks. So much shiny. I also placed a bid on a 6500 bottom bracket, because I hear once 7700 bb's go bad, they are a b*tch to get back up to spec, and the Ultegra's are much more durable, and don't weigh too much more.
Also won an auction for a Selle Italia SLK. We'll see how that rides. I've been having perineal pain on my current saddle (but only on the track, it was comfortable as hell on the road... what gives?), and I hope the massive cutout on the SLK will solve this. I also pretty much decided on my wheelset for the Kilo. H+Son Formation Face's laced to Silver Novatec's with Sapim CX-Ray. 20h Radial front, and a 24h 3x Rear. Should be plenty stiff, as aero as it gets for aluminum, and still sub 2kg. I'm probably gonna place an order in late august/early september. World's Nicest Kilo TT. Mission Accomplished. I also got some really exciting news. |
Cleared to ride?

From my experience, the 7700 BBs are serviceable ( completely disassemble and repair), while the 6500 BBs are NOT serviceable ( use and throw away). BTW I have both, and prefer the 7700.

So, we'll see. |

I know the feeling. It felt so good to get out for a ride once cleared to ride in april of last year even though the rides were like 5-10 miles for the first couple of weeks.
|
are you using the 7710 chainring too, nag?
