You can stuff my pork loin anytime, bbcakez.

Rode with some friends, got lost, had an adventure, made some food on our return. Repeat tomorrow

As a chef, I approve. Though if you wanted to do the true porchetta, it should have been the whole animal. However, that's a massive undertaking, so pork loin is good.

cool :). i went to Marist and used to wander down the train tracks to CIA to get wasted w/ the culinary students. my first foodie lessons. i'd love to get some folks to go in on a whole pig for a real porchetta. (missing something w/o the fat mixed in). but i have had some serious lechon at a Filipino guy's house (my knife combat teacher). slow roasted and basted in coconut water. skin comes off like a sweet crispy meat cracker. nomnomnom.... *sigh*

Today I found out my grandfather on my father's side has a brain tumor, doctors say it is likely benign, but they also said that the cancer my grandfather on my mother's side had was the type he could live 20 more years with it. He died way less than a year after diagnosis, so we will see. I am really starting to hate 2011, between a somewhat significant health issue, a hurricane that has the area still picking up the peices and roads still closed, to deaths in the family, I'm ready for this year to go away.

****ty man. Been a few years since I've dealt with cancer in the family, but I know how it goes. Never any fun.

I know exactly how you feel man. This year has blown in a lot of ways. Just remember that you are strong, and that you can pull through. Remember that you have a whole community here that, if I may speak for others, will be a hand to help you up, or a shoulder to lean upon. Be strong and stay positive.

today I watched a lot of football, put some of the gold sprint clips I had together, cleaned up the Soma and adjusted the Leader more and more to try and get it to work. Getting more and more comfortable with each one and I think I may be keeping her now that I'm feeling better on bullhorns. I still need to do a good 40-50 mile on it to see if it's worth it, but the short rides have been so far so good. I've said it before but a 725 on a smooth road feels heavenly.

That dude has owned that domain since 1997: http://www.networksolutions.com/whoi.../fixedgear.com. This was back before the internet boom.

Seems like a spin class instructor (spin bikes use fixed gears).

Can't be mad at that dude.

I think he's not happy because the site isn't about FG bikes.

mashtofu 09-19-11 02:49 PM

Oh, I see. I thought they were trying to charge for group rides. Thanks for clearing that up.

Today I'm browsing on an iPad for the first time. It's weird, difficult, and I can't decide if I like it or not. Actually, browsing is ok, but posting on the forums is cumbersome.

I post 99% on my iPhone, I think I've been on this forum 3 times on my laptop haha.

Edit: should add my own Today I:

Today I finally trimmed my seat post down, cleaned the bike off after a 27 mile trek with some friends yesterday where we took a bike path and ate Pizza outside an Italian place run by Indian dudes haha.

hamfoh 09-19-11 05:31 PM

hamfoh 09-19-11 05:36 PM

today i, *not bike related* was almost hit by a lady who ran a red in her camry[beige on beige, of course]. luckily, i was driving a customers R8 V10 and did a maneuver only a few street legal cars could pull off to avoid the incident[make a sharp 90deg right at about 80kmh].

after my balls dropped back out of my body i went and got a coffee.

jimmytango 09-19-11 07:36 PM

Yeah I wanna know about the $34 Thomson as well.

Today I did about 30 miles that was bisected by two hours of beating the piss out of drums. Good times.

Verbose 09-19-11 08:14 PM

It's in the deals thread. Silver, but it's only 25.4 which is the reason they aren't flying off the virtual shelves.

misskaz 09-19-11 08:32 PM

Today my husband got hit by a car on his way home from work. Luckily he is mostly fine, just some road rash/bruising. His bike is also ok. Still scary.

Today I took my fenders off my commuter as I slowly turn it back into a CX bike.

mkeHENRY 09-19-11 08:37 PM

Today, I destroyed the housing and brake cable while trying to install and cut using just needle-nose pliers. :( :(

How dangerous is it to ride with a un-wound (1 strand) brake cable? hahh.

"HONEEEEEEY!!! Are you OK?!?!"

"Have you seen my CX tires?"

I'm glad he's OK.
