Today my gf went to our LBS, where we picked up our newly-assembled bikes last week. They had originally given her the wrong sized freewheel, so she's been riding fixed for the past week (for the first time in her life). When she went back today to get the right sized freewheel, they ended up giving her a new chain and installing it for free. Awesome people there.
She also bought us some Blackburn flea 2.0 lights, so we're excited to get some night rides in. |

It will dull down. Your Izumi Eco chain may be contributing to some of the noise too. Those chains are known to be pretty loud.

I'll gladly trade you my silent as the night 17t PW cog for yours. :D

Adidas MTB shoes by hwdxbassist, on Flickr Today I picked these up on the down low. Tomorrow to get some egg beaters |
I don't know, but I think you picked up a pair of soccer cleats... :p:lol:
They look like it and are super light to be MTB shoes but nope there biking shoes. too lazy to take more pics of the sole and upthem on Flickr.
Nah, I totally believe you hwdx, it's just the styling of the shoe that resembles Adidas's soccer line up.
your right. These were not released to the public and the styling is what attracted me to them(prolly because I play soccer). I'm glad I got them, now I'm just deciding on whether to get time atacs or eggbeaters
I got eggbeaters because I am cheap, and because I needed a MTB pedal with a cleat that would work on road shoes. I am interested in trying some ATACs though. Eggbeaters give you a four-sided entry, but the float is fixed and there isn't a ton of adjustment that can be done, besides the release angle.
Yea me too:lol: and I just want to try them because of the easy entry/release because im new and haven't tried clipless but well see how they feel.:thumb:
Well the good news is, not only are they easy to get into, they'll keep you in during skids and backpedalling better than SPDs.

im resting today.
Did critical mass yesterday for the first time and it was kick ass. Rode pretty hard throughout but unfortunately for my friend, his back tube got a puncture and he was consumed about 15 minutes into the ride. I lost him and kept riding for an hour and a half. Almost ate **** when the guy who was in front of me collided with the guy beside him. Funny thing was that I didn't even move to the side. As the guy fell, he kind of landed on one of his feet and dragged the bike away to the side as he fell so I narrowly escaped plowing into his bike and flying over the bars. Long story short, I had to pick up my friends who got left behind that night and then we partied. |
Went out riding in NYC today and saw a fellow BD bike owner - black Windsor w/ freewheel attached, bullhorns and white bar tape. Anyone here?
Did my first time trial today! I did the best I could, so I'm happy. I made the mistake of riding all the way there... halfway by myself, the other half with the local cycling club. With the group, I averaged about 21mph. I stayed toward the front and even pulled for a mile or so. I was pretty much toast by the time I got to the start line. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, GO!! OUCH lactic acid. Only 9 more miles of grueling agony. I averaged about 20mph, which is good given my condition at the time and the condition of my bike. I tried to ride with the group back to town and got dropped like a hot potato a couple of miles in. Great day so far... now I'm going to get drunk and go skateboarding for the first time in months.

TODAY I GOT STUNG BY A MFING BEE, INSIDE MY MOUTH, WHILE I WAS BIKING. WTF
http://28.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lp...ple3o1_500.jpg |
how the hell? That Bee has some skills.
Jesus christ that ****ing sucks
time to stop being a mouth breather I guess, huh
Did you swallow him for swift sweet vengeance?
I think I swallowed all of him but his stinger, which was stuck in my lip and took a while to lodge out with my tongue actually. I was on an overpass, lots of wind and lots of fast cars so I couldn't stop. When I spit what was left in my mouth out there didn't seem to be a lot of him left though
hahaha this reminds me of the time a small fly flew into my eye and got stuck for a bit. Definitely an odd situation.
today i did a short ride to test out the spd-sl's...scary! my foot kept slipping every time i tried to clip in.
