Just got back from a group ride with my bay area cycling buddies. Good times; did a lot of catching up, a good bunch of them had new steads too! Had to borrow a loaner bike through from the LBS, on the house.

Fun! It's always nice to catch up with old friends.

How many of you actually carry a spare with you?

im assuming you mean tube, not tire: every time im on a bike. a rolled up tube is barely bigger than a clif bar or an iphone.

multitool[crank bros one with allens and chainbreaker], tube, inflator, irons. i stuff it all down the front of my pants to impress sqrls

Scrodzilla 09-10-11 04:34 PM

I always have a tube in my bag as well. The one time I actually needed a tube, I didn't have my ****ing bag.

I do have some World Championship cards though from 2006. Not sure if they are even worth anything but I'm looking into it.

calv 09-10-11 05:10 PM

I used to play Magic a lot. Went to some tournaments here and there. I lost like half of my cards, but if I had them all.. I'd have like, 4 huge boxes of them, not including lands lol.

Today I had a pretty good day. Almost finished reading Art of Wheelbuilding and am very excited to start my build.

jimmytango 09-10-11 05:23 PM

I always have a tube and patch kit with me.

Wow! That's crazy, going to keep an eye on mine for sure! I was looking at the SRAM S300 courier crankset/BB, looks like they're about $100 on ebay complete and seem to be a good replacement.

Thats a possibility. But for now, I'm emailing BD, and hoping like hell that they'll send me a replacement arm/set, or my LBS has replacement arms for like $15-20

Just rode around town today. Got fed some sweet Indian food for helping a friend move her furniture around.

Today I set out to do the Paradise Loop.

Instead, I did a metric century and climbed a mountain to 2,000 ft.

Tomorrow I will be a slob.

max5480 09-11-11 12:06 AM

Man that Rueben looks sweet!!! You gotta let us know how it rides. That frame is so sick and the disc brakes are cool. The Exile from Traitor also looks really nice.

A lot of people I know (including me) headed out to Sausalito/Tiburon area today. I think part of it is due to the fact that the bike lane is open on the Golden Gate now.

J.Wolfe 09-11-11 12:26 AM

cruised in the city to catch some pics at sunset.

I'm in the east bay so I don't tend to cross the bay much during rides especially with how spaced out the time table is on saturdays bah, HORRIBLE! We went from Hayward to Mt. Hamilton & back.

You just answered your own question buddy. ;)
It helps to use an ice breaker in the form of a time appropriate question or comment through. For example, in a conversation with more than one person, "I'm sorry but I overheard you were talking about __________, well I _________."

cc700 09-11-11 12:37 AM

rolled around town all day. WHCBP championships. http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6173/...753cbe39b1.jpg
rode the nishiki, rode the fuji, loved life.

Roamed around Tokyo (Asakusa, Ginza, Ueno, and Shibuya) with just my camera. It was hot, but saw some cool stuff and ate good food. I wish I had my bike with me over here :/

I've done this. It left my mouth feeling all scaly and furry.
