Today I put on my PW cogs and noticed they make the Surly cog sound like a silent assassin. wtf. I even recorded video as evidence for the skeptic. Hopefully it's just that fresh cog noise and it'll simmer its ass down

Scrodzilla 07-30-11 07:53 AM

It will dull down. Your Izumi Eco chain may be contributing to some of the noise too. Those chains are known to be pretty loud.

JPWendtinc 07-30-11 08:15 AM

Crashed.

Scrodzilla 07-30-11 08:20 AM

Today I realized I was a victim of fraud and someone charged over $400 on my company credit card.

Bastards.

Sucks. I hope you get everything worked out. PM me if you need anything.

Scrodzilla 07-30-11 08:26 AM

Yeah, it really sucks. It's happened to us more than once.

hamfoh 07-30-11 09:00 AM

better the company card than a debit card I guess.

Someone got into my paypal account like 5 years ago and that **** was a disaster.

Today I went on the maiden voyage on my caad9, it was glorious.

Philthy Bastard 07-30-11 09:57 AM

today i rode to work. first ride with the RB-002s, and i haven't had a chance to pick up any bar tape. i just might run to the LBS at lunch time as my hands are still buzzing. oh, a woman that i work with came into my office and was checking out my bike. she asked, "so, how do you change gears?".

You should have replied, "With my balls."

Today my gf went to our LBS, where we picked up our newly-assembled bikes last week. They had originally given her the wrong sized freewheel, so she's been riding fixed for the past week (for the first time in her life). When she went back today to get the right sized freewheel, they ended up giving her a new chain and installing it for free. Awesome people there.

She also bought us some Blackburn flea 2.0 lights, so we're excited to get some night rides in.

I think the cog may be the main contributor, until it dulls, because the AC was quiet. Recommendations on a quieter 1/8 chain (oxymoron?) if after the cog simmers down it's still going at it? Petty I know, but it's one of my few pet peeves.

Leukybear 07-30-11 11:01 AM

I'll gladly trade you my silent as the night 17t PW cog for yours. :D

Aha I think blood would flow in the streets if it were to disappear. I wonder who's?

Adidas MTB shoes by hwdxbassist, on Flickr

Today I picked these up on the down low. Tomorrow to get some egg beaters

Leukybear 07-30-11 11:55 AM

I don't know, but I think you picked up a pair of soccer cleats... :p:lol:

hwdxbassist 07-30-11 11:57 AM

They look like it and are super light to be MTB shoes but nope there biking shoes. too lazy to take more pics of the sole and upthem on Flickr.

Leukybear 07-30-11 12:05 PM

Nah, I totally believe you hwdx, it's just the styling of the shoe that resembles Adidas's soccer line up.

hwdxbassist 07-30-11 12:16 PM

your right. These were not released to the public and the styling is what attracted me to them(prolly because I play soccer). I'm glad I got them, now I'm just deciding on whether to get time atacs or eggbeaters

redpear 07-30-11 12:34 PM

I got eggbeaters because I am cheap, and because I needed a MTB pedal with a cleat that would work on road shoes. I am interested in trying some ATACs though. Eggbeaters give you a four-sided entry, but the float is fixed and there isn't a ton of adjustment that can be done, besides the release angle.

hwdxbassist 07-30-11 12:41 PM

Yea me too:lol: and I just want to try them because of the easy entry/release because im new and haven't tried clipless but well see how they feel.:thumb:

redpear 07-30-11 12:50 PM

Well the good news is, not only are they easy to get into, they'll keep you in during skids and backpedalling better than SPDs.
