Today I was reminded first hand how horrid formula lockrings are. A friend asked me if I can help him with his fixed gear wheel. He came over with a formula hub with a completely chewed up formula lockring and his hozan spanner (which he tried to get it off with at first; said the aluminum slots kept deforming). Had to use a vise to get it off. Morale of today, DA lockrings are a must.

Tickets to see Phish on Wednesday. Short notice show to benefit Vermont Flood relief efforts. Should be great!

Today I rode the FTP for awhile and decided it needs to go. It's so overkill for riding around to class and I don't really enjoy it as much as I do the TET. Plus, I could buy a solid beater and partially fund a pretty nice road bike for what I can get for the FTP (or what I hope I can get).

Wheels are staying, though, 'cause they're awesome.

Today I posted a bunch of eBay listings for my duplicate Pokemon cards and the total came out to $160. And these are just my DUPLICATES! Pokemon cards are gold! Though I'll never sell my main collection.. Anyways all these ****ty random old cards will cover the cost of my new hubset. And I sold a guitar I never play to pay for my rims, spokes, and nips. :D

*Scrambles to find his wife's old collection of holographics.
Pokemon is much too overrated now past the 150 pokemon...
Are yugioh cards worth anything?

Haha, I dunno, I always teased the Yugioh kids.

Are your wife's cards all from the first series? Before you sell any, I want to PM you a list of the cards I still need. If you have anything I'm looking for I'll pay you exactly what it's worth. Mint condition only, of course. :p

I'm 20 by the way. Pokemon and Digimon will always have a special place in my heart.

Dannihilator 09-09-11 08:21 PM

You bet, the original packs (original 150; when a holo charizard was to die for); she preferred booster packs (that's what they're called right?) to flowers when we were dating.

I'll PM you once I find that big binder or binders full of them, I have no idea where to begin! Don't worry she only collected and girls tended to treat their cards better then guys did.

Jaytron 09-09-11 08:46 PM

Today I tried climbing a hill with the single speed, with an 11%, with it's "breaks" being 6% for a short period of time.

Was the suck. But the decent made it all worth it. (Running 48/16 btw)

jimmytango 09-09-11 10:12 PM

Wow, you guys have to be young. I'm 26 and felt I was too old for the cards when they came out. Loved the games though.

pylea 09-09-11 10:52 PM

Whoa, owning Pokemon cards and already being married? Weird. Now I feel old and spinstery.

I didn't mean first edition, I just meant the first 150 Pokemon (which was actually 6 series, including both gym leader sets). Anyways, uh, gimme? :p

I know have the "power 3" (Charizard/Blastoise/Venusaur) I'd have to drive down to bakersfield to get them at my old house though. Haha I'll message you if/when I do, what are you looking for specifically?

DID NO ONE SEE?

yummy wants to sell his FTP. Bigger news than pokemon to me.

Now the catch--should we let him or convince him to keep it?

Leukybear 09-09-11 11:42 PM

Sell it to redpear! Clearly redpear is interested. And feel free to overcharge the hipster k's?

redpear 09-09-11 11:49 PM

I am not worthy of an FTP.

Well a full price one? Maybe... but this is a nashbar FTP we're talking about. Cheer up.

redpear 09-10-11 12:02 AM

On a serious note, if I bought it, it's very likely I would meet the same conclusion he did.

yummygooey 09-10-11 12:24 AM

Yea I really wish I liked it more, but at this point I think I should build something more sensible.
