Hmmm, I get people lifting all my bikes multi and single speed. Well, except for the Western Flyer. No one wants to get a hernia.

heh, right on. i had a '46 Western Flyer (integral rear rack) and i know for a fact that it was more than a match for so called '5mph bumpers'.

anyone know what the clamp on this quill stem is or the best way to measure it? all I have is 'tape' measure so I'm guessing that will be a *****.

Today I learned to build my own wheels
the result:

TB-14 Rims
Campagnolo Pista Hubs
DT Swiss Spokes
Too bad I don't have a truing stand, that would be fun

2) 26.0. i can tell by the pixels.
are you singlespeeding it for a beater or are you going to post it next week in the 'show us your geared bike' thread with new tires and bartape?

1) no one wants the aerobars. i tried to sell some for $10 on my local CL. ended up donating to bike co-op.

It depends on how drunk I am.

Yesterday some guy in an SUV literally came within a couple inches of hitting me and running me over with his car while I was riding down Broadway.

Today some total **** came barreling down the road behind us at 60 mph in a Porsche 911. The speed limit was 25.
Gotta love cars sometimes, right?

Today, I went for a ride despite how insane the wind was. Then the insane wind turned into wind and rain.
Should have checked the weather. Now im really tired and really wet

Today is my rest/ recovery day and I finally got the chance to salvage the tossed mcintosh 275 my wife found on the street; the vacuum tube set finally came yesterday during our ride. One bag of carrots later, 6 broken tube caps were removed and one potentially expensive gamble paid off. Just chilling and meditating to music now; the experience is so much more gratifying after you spent 3 painstaking hours repairing it yourself.

My computer broke but my parents got a family plan for iphones. The only thing I can't do is watch porn. At least I can lurk here
I also helped some guy at the co op with his Caad 9. A real Frankenstein bike. Sora shifters, tiagra RD, ultegra FD, no name cranks, dura ace 7800 outer chainring, wobbly **** bmx pedals, a big dent on the TT. Everything was out adjustment and the shifters were so freaking clunky

Spent the afternoon with my step son tuning up and upgrading his beloved Peugeot UO8... a little crash wrecked the stock crank which had to be cut off and then we replaced that with a newer road double and Suntour drive parts.
Will be adding some fenders and studded tyres later this week as he wants to ride through the winter... had upgraded the wheels a few years ago to some very nice alloy ones which are still running nice and true.
And then we went for coffee and cruised the mall... I don't get to see him often enough as he is a grown man and has a job and other young guy stuff to do but it was a great afternoon.
And we both rode our Peugeots... like father, like son.
