Today I put on my PW cogs and noticed they make the Surly cog sound like a silent assassin. wtf. I even recorded video as evidence for the skeptic. Hopefully it's just that fresh cog noise and it'll simmer its ass down

It will dull down. Your Izumi Eco chain may be contributing to some of the noise too. Those chains are known to be pretty loud.

Today I realized I was a victim of fraud and someone charged over $400 on my company credit card.

Bastards.

today i rode to work. first ride with the RB-002s, and i haven't had a chance to pick up any bar tape. i just might run to the LBS at lunch time as my hands are still buzzing. oh, a woman that i work with came into my office and was checking out my bike. she asked, "so, how do you change gears?".

Today my gf went to our LBS, where we picked up our newly-assembled bikes last week. They had originally given her the wrong sized freewheel, so she's been riding fixed for the past week (for the first time in her life). When she went back today to get the right sized freewheel, they ended up giving her a new chain and installing it for free. Awesome people there.

She also bought us some Blackburn flea 2.0 lights, so we're excited to get some night rides in.

I think the cog may be the main contributor, until it dulls, because the AC was quiet. Recommendations on a quieter 1/8 chain (oxymoron?) if after the cog simmers down it's still going at it? Petty I know, but it's one of my few pet peeves.

Nah, I totally believe you hwdx, it's just the styling of the shoe that resembles Adidas's soccer line up.

your right. These were not released to the public and the styling is what attracted me to them(prolly because I play soccer). I'm glad I got them, now I'm just deciding on whether to get time atacs or eggbeaters

I got eggbeaters because I am cheap, and because I needed a MTB pedal with a cleat that would work on road shoes. I am interested in trying some ATACs though. Eggbeaters give you a four-sided entry, but the float is fixed and there isn't a ton of adjustment that can be done, besides the release angle.

Well the good news is, not only are they easy to get into, they'll keep you in during skids and backpedalling better than SPDs.
