Went to my bro's house to put some toe clips on his Brick Lane Bike Lo-Pro. Flipped his wheel to fixed (I was so proud) then we went on a ride with another friend to get shwarma.

Today I treated an old neglected friend to some new tubes and some much-needed greasing for his first ride since November.

Ever since I built up the Trek, this parts bin build has sat in my hallway for months. After a quick jaunt through Brooklyn and back, I remembered why:
-50cm frame + 40mm rake = mad toeverlap, son. Offset this by removing foot retention (i rode in desert boots today).
-23mm tires are just as harsh on post-winter potholed streets as I remember them to be. Gonna order some 28s today, alas that's all the frame and fork can handle from past experience. (Incidentally, if anyone wants these kinda used Vredestein Fortezza Tricomps, PM me)
-Freewheelin' it was great and all, but now that i have a separate geared bike, i kinda want to "fix" this bike again; sadly the hub is one-sided freewheel only so i'll have to buy another wheel.
Also, that damn newspaper behind the saddle.

Nah, up in Eagle Rock. I was reading up on it today; neighborhood council is pushing for bikes lanes on Colorado Blvd, and a few stubborn sissies are mad about it because they think it will **** up traffic and add an extra two minutes onto their drive to the freeway.
